Went to breakfast here with my parents. We had such a nice time. View was fabulous. Food was delicious. And Mario, our server, was very nice too. Parents are elderly so was easy to park walkers and restrooms were easy to access. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. Will be returning for sure!

Very limited dinner menu and every item is overpriced leaving no choice but to spend over $60 per item. For the type of very casual setting it is, yet a hotel of this caliber, one would expect white table cloths and candlelight on the tables. They didn't even have salt peppers set up on the tables. Very shameful that they're cutting corners but charge so much for simple foods like shrimp pasta and steak frites.

We came here with a small group for their formal afternoon tea. The teas were great and were the most memorable.  The food, however, fell extremely short. I'm not kidding when I say for the price, we would've been more satisfied, going to the grocery store and putting a few things together. It was a strange combination of things and missing some of the formal accompaniments.  Several of the savory items, none of the six of us liked.  And several of these sweet items were way overly sweet.  I cannot recommend this venue for afternoon tea without a lot of improvement of the menu items.

The food and service was very good. Unfortunately the noise was off charts due to a large group taking up three tables and running back and forth amongst themselves talking. Finally we asked to be moved and our server seated outside which was a lovely table so we could hear our conversation better.

La Valencia is a beautiful classic hotel. The balcony and lounge have views of the Pacific which make it a lovely spot for a bite or beverage.

Beautiful hotel with unique bars and exsquisite fine dining room. Dinner wait staff did amazing job in enhancing the dining experience. Attentive, but not "clingy". Personal hospitality focused, not just "mechanical steps of service". Nice and fair priced wine list. Beautiful views of the ocean...staff also talented in cameras for epic pix.

Sunday brunch—oh dear God. Hope there is somewhere I can upload photos. Superb: food, service, ambiance, ocean view. Eggs Benedict, espresso martini—I have not tasted better on either counts. Factor in the people from the great state of California—specifically beautiful La Jolla in SD. What's not to love.

Had a reservation for an outdoor table. We were told when we got there “everyone makes outdoor reservations “and would have to wait 45 minutes for a table even though they're empty ones. We were told that those were for other reservations. We would not have made reservations here for that night if we knew there was only indoor seating.
