Thanksgiving at the Mediterranean Room has become a family tradition! The staff are amazing, so friendly, and helpful. And there is nothing like watching a La Jolla sunset on Thanksgiving day!

Booked a ocean view on thanksgivings day for me and my wife. We were put in a south side alley. The sun was blasting us in our faces at 1:30PM. There was no air flow. It was miserable. It was a prefix menu extreme expensive. We left with a overall $400+ bill and each of us only got one drink. Water was not regularly refreshed. Food was taken away and left with no forks. The spot we were in was miserable. Literally if you looked down the line of where we were at no other people sat at two person tables but us! That is a sign as a resturante you should not reserve tables like this - its pure misery. And at premuim prices. Fix it or dont book it. Thats just being a tool to do this to people like me and my wife. This is why I hate eating out. Getting treated like crap when you are paying extreme prices. Stuffed into places no one would willing eat at. I was hot and it was very uncomfortable. The food was very mediocre. The turkey was dry. My wife hated her carrots they were slathered with some wierd puree sauce. The whole thing was horrible. I will never come back ever again in my life never. I feel sick to my stomach paying that money for that horrible experience. It's a big rip off. And I am not a snob at all... I am a very reasonable person with reasonable expectations. We normally go to Ruth Chris in downtown and they always treat us right. For years. I would avoid this place. My wife wanted it for thanksgiving but when she saw the price she was upset also. The two person tables on the south outside of this establishment are traps. No one wants to eat at them. They should remove those tables completely and stop baiting people. Shame on this resturante for setting people up for a bad experience with very high prices.

Fabulous view. Very good service. Good lunch food although a bit overpriced in my opinion. Would definitely return again especially with out of town visitors,

The seating hostess was cold and rude. Not sure if she was having a bad night or what. Waiter was efficient and fine. Have eaten here several times and this was the worst of the bunch. My daughter was with me for a celebratoin and she had the exact same comment about the seating hostess. Really put a bad vibe to start what should have been a very nice evening.

Very expensive experience! The expense was not justified by the decor as didn't refer to the Valencia's tradition but was just blah. Although there was only one couple at another table the big table produced an unbelievable amount of noise so I could not hear my two soft- spoken guests. This kind of corporate expense account experience is not for today.

One of the most romantic dining rooms on the coast, pink palace glamour, ocean views, and flawless service. The Dover sole and soufflé are pure old-school elegance. Already counting the days until we return.

Halloween tea was very low quality. Broken up candy bars and only sugary food. Barely any food

What a delightful place to have dinner looking over the ocean (especially at sunset!). Michael, our waiter, was very attentive & directed us in making some excellent dinner choices.

Magical dining experience at the stunning Mediterranean Room in the La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla. Sitting on the dog friendly patio you can see a beautiful view of the ocean and downtown La Jolla. We enjoyed the red wine, Oaxacan Spanish octopus, striped sea bass, and coffee crusted lamb. The service was friendly, quick, and accommodating. Recommend!

Extremely disappointed in this years breast cancer pink tea. My friend and I are both breast cancer survivors and have been coming to this tea for many years. The food was TERRIBLE as the sandwich breads seemed very dry and the rest of the food was not very good, and the tea was cold. Ashley was great, but it looked like she was the only server handling all of the tables. Ryan, V. Myers and Rachelle have all left La Valencia and maybe that is the issue. Again, extremely disappointed. I called and spoke to Ritchie a manager and I felt that he did not take my issues very seriously, so I do not plan to dine at any of their restaurants ever again and I have been a regular. I think they may have had a management change and their food and customer service has now suffered greatly.

Beautiful view and setting, especially during sunset!! However, the food was pricey and tasted meh. Nothing special.

I booked a table for a birthday dinner for two at the Mediterranean Room - La Valencia Hotel, expecting a special evening. The night cost $200. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the expense or the occasion. Reservation handling: Although I clearly noted the birthday on the reservation, none of the staff made a note of it or offered any acknowledgment during the meal. A simple “Happy Birthday” would have gone a long way. Food: The dishes were decent—nothing memorable, but at least they were edible. Service: The service felt indifferent. Staff were polite enough, but overall the attention was lackluster (“meh”). We didn't receive the extra care you'd anticipate for a celebration. Why this was especially disappointing: Two years ago, I celebrated a birthday at the same restaurant, and the experience was the opposite. The staff noted the birthday on the reservation, offered a warm greeting, and even brought a complimentary birthday dessert. That thoughtful touch set a high expectation for future visits, which this recent experience did not meet. For the price point and occasion, I was hoping for a more attentive, personalized experience—especially given the positive service I received on my earlier visit. I'm sharing this feedback in hopes that future guests—particularly those celebrating special moments—receive the extra touch they deserve.

Went to breakfast here with my parents. We had such a nice time. View was fabulous. Food was delicious. And Mario, our server, was very nice too. Parents are elderly so was easy to park walkers and restrooms were easy to access. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. Will be returning for sure!

The atmosphere of this restaurant is beautiful, however the service is mediocre. At one point our waitress disappeared for a good 45 mins. It took a long time to receive the food which did not taste fresh. We had the shrimp pasta and chicken plate. They give a very underwhelming amount of flavorless chicken with beets on the side, a very interesting combo. The shrimp pasta was a good proportion but tasted like frozen food.

Lovely place for a special occasion! We got seated in the room away from the noise and it was perfect to be able to talk with our group. For food, most of the items were yummy. However, I ordered the salmon for my main course and the fish was in a gross mushroom sauce. It ruined the dish for me since the flavors didn't mesh well. Drinks were good! The server was very attentive! A+ there 💛
