Absolutely fantastic date night. As a newly diagnosed celiac, eating out has been scary and they were extremely accommodating. They only offered us GF options, brought extra veggies in place of bread, and had GF cookies and brownies for fondue dessert. Thank you Shawna and Johnny for making our trip memorable. We will be back next time we are in town!

The service was amazing. The server went above and beyond to be both efficient and quick as possible to ensure my date was memorable. I never had to ask for nothing it was like they knew exactly what I needed when I needed it. Definitely a place I would recommend for that special night out to show your better half how special they are to you.

We had such a good time. Place looks really nice dark interior in a building constructed in 1913 in great shape.
We started with the Alpine cheese, fondue, followed by salad, and then the dark chocolate.
Amazing taste, loved the cheese. Charles was our waiter and you did an amazing job.
We’re gonna go there every other month for our date night!

The environment and atmosphere of this location were absolutely beautiful. I met a friend for dinner, I got the vegan fondue and the gluten free breads&veggies to dip. We both loved everything, especially the mocktails!
Shout out to Shauna who made our visit that much more enjoyable, we will definitely be back!

My opinion may be bias because of my history with the melting pot, but this location is by far my and my wife's favorite. The management staff go above and beyond to create a special experience. The food is always enjoyable and a fun experience. On our visit last night Shauna (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) made our 12th anniversary dinner a night to remember
We have been here many times over the years but recently have moved away. I am happy to see that the restaurant is still here and continues to improve!

This was our first time visiting The Melting Pot, and we were excited to celebrate Father’s Day as a family — two adults and a child under 9. The interior had a nice ambiance, but to our surprise, most of the tables remained empty during our stay.
Our child ordered the salmon from the kids' menu and a chocolate milk. My husband and I selected items from their menu (it was a little confusing). The concept was new to us — cooking your own meat in a broth and timing it using their app. While the meat and salmon were of good quality, the overall meal didn’t quite impress us. It was fine, but not something we’d rave about.
Oddly enough, the highlight of the evening was the dessert! However, that sweet ending was quickly soured by how the bill was handled.
The bill was dropped at the same time as our dessert, no time to even try our desert first. For two adults and a child, the total was about $250. But we noticed an unexplained $12 add-on charge, I have no idea what it was for, and while I'm not in the habit of questioning restaurant staff, it raised an eyebrow.
What was truly uncomfortable and unprofessional, though, was what came next. When the server handed me the payment machine, it took a moment to realize he had pre-added a 25% tip without informing me, or letting me choose what percentage of tip I like to pay. He stood right over me, watching as I completed the transaction. The pressure was real, and frankly, it felt manipulative, and super unprofessional! I paid what the waiter had picked for me to pay! No question asked, and that's on me.
But, we came to celebrate a special night, and unfortunately, we left feeling taken advantage of. For a bill that came to over $300, we expected more professionalism and hospitality. I understand and respect that servers rely heavily on tips, but transparency and courtesy should NEVER be compromised. This is how establishments lose clients.
On a positive note, the staff member who cleared our plates was much more friendly and warm than our server — and that kindness stood out.

What an amazing place! The food was delicious and plentiful. Cheerful service by helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Be advised - this place isn’t cheap - but what a fun spot for a special meal.

Our overall experience was not good, and we would not go back. We were on the second floor in a very small booth that was very enclosed. While it might be considered an intimate dining experience for some, we found it to be warm and uncomfortable, especially with the steaming fondue pots. The service was decent and so was the food, but not excellent. It wouldn't be enough to bring us back in the future.

Alonzo was awesome and made sure our night in the San Diego Gaslamp was great. We had our dogs and he and his team were very accommodating towards us sitting in the patio. Thank you again!
