Local spot for sure, we were staying on mission Beach for business, easy to walk to and the Mexican food in the back is quite good, went back next night for a few beers and enjoyed a game, a quiet place in the off season.

Dropped by this little tavern after hearing about it from a friend—honestly, such a cozy vibe in there. The lighting felt warm, kinda dim but in a nice way. Oh, and the staff? Super chill, like they weren’t rushing you or anything.
I didn’t really expect much walking in, but wow, the smell that hit me right away—like grilled something? Made me even hungrier. They had this buzz going on, not too loud though. Felt like one of those places where you could just hang out forever.

The pennant feels like home. Every time I have been here i feel like I’m walking into cheers. Great staff and wonderful supporters of SDFC!!!
All the staff is wonderful except for the heavier set male bartender that was there last night 10/3 @7:30 pm. Usually come here often but probably won’t now unless he’s not working. If you’re not the right shade you won’t get service if you know what I mean. If management is reading you can check the cameras and verify. Sad to leave a 1 star I really used to like this place.

The biggest problem with this bar is you cannot Park here They do not have valet parking and unless you're living in the area or you can get dropped off or Uber over you're not going to find parking unless it's a miracle. The food was really good and so was the service the bartenders here are very very nice. Bouncer at the door. And you feel safe

I dont want you to visit this place. Takes away the magic. But they deserve credit for being a great beach dive bar from a bygone era. If you know these California coastal gems you just know. The vibe is great. Be respectful and enjoy yourself.
