The Purple Mint Vegan Bistro

Omg!!! This is going to be one of my favorite restaurant. I’m definitely going to be a returning customer. Food was delicious and staff was friendly. Ordered Thai iced tea, hibiscus berry drink, hue style spicy noodle, a fish plate, hot and sour soup and orange chicken. The orange chicken hit the spot since I’ve been craving for it. The spicy noodles wasn’t spicy at all tho. Even when I put sriracha and chili oil on it, it was not spicy at all. Everything was just delicious. Highly recommend coming here. They have amazing food here with a decent sized menu and good prices! The food came out very fast. I had the steak, shrimp and garlic noodles with shrimp. Everything was delicious. The noodles were a bit oily but that was my only complaint. Highly recommend this place

Had a really good experience here. We had the Curry and the Orange Chicken. Both were really good. The curry has an amazing depth of flavor and the Orange Chicken was crispy and had a good amount of sauce on it. Service was friendly and fast. Overall atmosphere was really nice as well. Will for sure come back and try out more of the dishes they offer.

Oh and prices were on point! Never in SD have I got two drinks, an appetizer and two entrees and paid less than $60.00

The place is in a very shady area. We ordered 4 items : Hot & sour soup, Avocado rolls, Kung pao and Potato curry. I was honestly very excited to try but both Entrée were disappointing in taste. Soup and rolls were somewhat ok. Service was quick and good. Highly doubt will go there again

So many fun options! We got the garlic noodle shrimp which was a tasty dish we usually can’t find vegan. The summer spring rolls were good, but the peanut sauce was a bit watery, rather than thick and creamy per my preference, I probably wouldn’t get the rolls agains once the peanut sauce is a big part of the flavor for me. The orange chicken was sweet and tasty, I also got to try the wontons and the duck lettuce wrap. A nice variety and tasty dishes, would definitely come back to try more of the menu.

I wish I could have stayed in town longer to try out more items on the menu! Excellent vegan food and super friendly staff.

I was absolutely blown away! I definitely didn’t think it looked remarkable from the outside but I was incredibly impressed! Our server, the food quality, taste, portion size for price and ambiance was perfect!

I had the Tofu Spring Rolls and Vegan Bahn Mi. Both were delicious! I also enjoyed some from my friends’ plates. I’ve been vegan for 14 years and in San Diego the entire time. the Purple Mint definitely made it into my top three in terms of vegan restaurants and even if you’re not vegan you’re going to love the quality and freshness.

I cant wait to go back and bring my friends and family!

Had noodles soup with book choy and garlic and crispy rolls. Space could use cleaning especially bathroom.

We loved everything about this place! The food was fresh, flavorful and the portions hearty. The service was very courteous and quick. It’s a cute little no frills restaurant with amazing Vietnamese/ pan Asian food. We had hot and sour soup (huge portion!) and the spicy lemongrass noodle soup. Definitely recommended!

I’ve only had delicious meals here. Order the baguette to go with the Yam & Sweet Potato Curry. That way you can mop up every drop of the delicious sauce/soup. My ultimate favorite tho’ is the Black Rice Pasta!

The menu is diverse and very yummy. Highlights were the fried tofu, mapo tofu lettuce cups and jasmine milk tea. They have done a phenomenal job with the ambience and the food. The only downside is the surrounding location. Will definitely revisit when we are in the area.
