A great restaurant with creative dishes and a very friendly and attentive staff. A lovely atmosphere with delicious food, this is a restaurant I will definitely return to. I had the pleasure of meeting the manager who convinced my I had to try the Griddled Banana Bread (I didn't need much convincing ?) and it was beyond words. Spectacularly scrumptious. I couldn't even wait to take the picture - I just had to take that first bite! Highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!

I highly recommend The Smoking Goat for date night with your lover. Intimate atmosphere, kind staff, and super tasty dishes. Our waiter Lafras recommenced the trout and I’m so glad because it was full of flavor! I will definitely be back for more.

Came here during restaurant week and of course we had to try the French onion soup. Food was good, service was good and the steak was our favorite menu item. Do not pass up the crème brule, it was one one of the best I’ve had.

If you are ever in the San Diego area, The Smoking Goat is a must go to for an exquisite dining experience. Fabulous robust menu accompanied by the best service I received in San Diego along with a beautiful atmosphere; what more can two girls from New York ask for! Scottie, our host for the night, made sure we were extremely taken care of. From the moment we walked through the door, every single thing was flawless. And the food! Let’s just say, my cousin and I cannot stop raving about the food. We had the mussels, steak with fries, and the pork chop. There are no words in existence to describe the food and drinks. I guess we can say impeccable! Thanks again to our new family at The Smoking Goat for a supreme dining experience!

5 stars on food, cocktails, wine, service! I had to work late so we called and asked to move our reservation back half an hour. It was a weekend night and they were so kind and accommodating about it. Also, the service was fantastic. We had Scotty, who was totally on point about all of his descriptions, and Everything came out so quickly. The food was absolutely delicious and perfectly salted. I got the scallops and my husband got the steak and everything was perfect. Get the duck fat fries, they’re totally worth it, and they come with the steak and a big portion! We had a great time, really look forward to returning.

Why do people like this place? I live near here and have gone here once on purpose and twice b/c I forgot I didn't like it. Way overpriced for what it is. Waiters have been generally inattentive. I've never found anything to be actually good on their menu, and then I end up paying like $60 per person. It's never bad exactly, but it's definitely not good.

My partner and I had great time last night at the smoking goat. The atmosphere warm, friendly with a non pretentious, yet subtle sophistication. We do cheese when in a French restaurant every time. The Lamb Chopper was as it should be, sweet and buttery at the beginning and finish with caramel and nutty undertones.I had the Steak Frites. The steak was cooked to perfection, it presented itself beautifully, and with the red wine bordelaise sauce, it was sublime. My partner had the duck, and he said it was prepared perfectly, rich and flavorful. The wine menu offers selections that pair oh-so-well with the dishes and cheeses. The Smoking Goat is 5 star service, food and a great evening out.

We found Smoking Goat during restaurant week but have returned for a birthday and another restaurant week. We have enjoyed every dish we have tried. The duck fat fries are crispy and seasoned perfectly. The pork belly appetizer was a new discovery and we loved its sweet and sour vibe served on a carrot puree. We always say room for dessert and give first prize to the goat cheese cheesecake and my grandson love the chocolate cake. It always a fun family meal time for us.

I've dined at Smoking Goat a few times prior (great experience!), but it was my first SDRW experience here and it was really disappointing. Firstly the menu was slightly different from advertised (I was very excited for the duck, which did not appear on the restaurant menu). I also felt that our experience for a group of 4 was very very rushed. Our wine glasses were being overfilled to rush through the carafe, the plates were being taken away with us having to say multiple times that we were not done yet. The group agreed that none of the plates were especially remarkable or memorable. I don't believe I will be coming back.

I was very excited to go because I had heard wonderful things about it, we made the reservation two weeks before a party of 6, and they sent me various confirmations but never told me it was restaurant week and we would have a fixed menu, the menu was ok the portions generous, but they told us we only has the table for 90min and it was ok, but since the menu was fixed and the service SLOW when the 90min were up we were eating dessert and then a manager came to the table to tell us if we would mind eating the rest of our meal at the bar, and of course I told him that we would mind, so then we finished our meal a bit rushes and uncomfortable, i will not be going there again. The food was ok but not that great to compensate for what happened at the end of the meal.
