I would 100% recommend these sushi. No but seriously, is there any negative I can point to about the sushi rolls I've had numerous times at this place?? NO! I even drive from Carlsbad to get them. which would maybe be a negative??
This is from an email, I sent to the owner that gave me no response.
Hello,
I have had issue a few times with ordering and service at both Yasai establishments. Yesterday our ordered was delivered via DoorDash and the bag was torn and box of vegan sushi which was open, when given to my husband by driver. The ramens seemed fine, due to The Yasai labeled sticker was placed to keep the food secure whereas the vegan sushi had no tape or sticker on it, which would have...read full review
Little Italy location: The food is delicious, creative Japanese fare, with many vegan options. The service needs some work however. The Sushi entrees are made by a different chef and are sometimes served at vastly different times than the ramen entrees. In our case, two of us were finished with their meals by the time the other two were served. The food presentation is beautiful.

The Yasai: Vegan Japanese Experience at Little Italy offers a stylish and minimalist atmosphere where friendly servers provide helpful recommendations. The menu includes both vegan and non-vegan options, featuring popular dishes like Misoshiru soup, vegan jumbo crispy gyoza, and the Triple Tomato Ramen. The food is exceptional, with standout offerings such as the Believer sushi roll and no-chicken karaage. Customers appreciate the delicious flavors and thoughtful service, including inquiries about dietary preferences. The vegan gyoza is often highlighted as the best ever, and the ramen, particularly the Kyoto Suyu Ramen, is celebrated for its rich broth, well-cooked noodles, and unique additions like squash. Many love the sushi, especially the Prophecy Roll and Queen Dragon Roll made with black rice. The atmosphere is cool, and the restaurant has introduced new appetizer options like tempura jalapeno poppers and corn ribs. However, some diners have noted that the ramen broth could be hotter, and there were times when servers could have been more attentive. Overall, Yasai is a hidden gem for vegan foodies and anyone seeking a delicious, plant-based meal in San Diego.
