The Yasai: Vegan Japanese Experience at Little Italy

Loved the triple tomato ramen… got it spicy. Yum!

We drove about an hour to Little Italy from Jacumba to celebrate my birthday. The drive is beautiful and serene. The food is delicious but parking is hard and expensive. The sushi rolls here are made with black rice which I love. We ordered Prophecy Roll and Queen Dragon Roll. Then we split The Classic Ramen. We both like the food. The atmosphere and service were great too.

Love the sushi, and all the new appetizer options - especially the tempura jalapeno poppers and corn ribs. Ramen broth could have been hotter. Servers could have been more attentive, had to keep asking multiple times for basics like water refill, napkins, soy sauce, etc.

Best vegan sushi I’ve had in 10 years as a vegan & the vibe inside is cool as well. Creative menu instead of the same ole vegan avocado roll option like at other sushi places.

Love the dedicated vegan menu. The original, vegan tomato broth based ramen was delicious.

We’ve been coming here for over a year and used to love it! Not sure if they changed owner or chefs but their vegan food is tasteless now. Sushi is decent

The food is really pretty, the sushi was great, the curry was really good, I don’t think I’d order the corn again personally but that’s just me, the server could have paid a little more attention, they were over there watching tables but it took quite a while for them to actually come over and take the order and then we had to motion to them to bring the check. I would probably go back for the sushi alone though.

At first I was a bit hesitant because I've never had vegan sushi but it was really good ! The Crispi gyoza is delicious! The tofu agedashi a bit bland for me, I love my soy a bit crispy. But my favorite is the believer and California dreamin with their purple black rice. I never tried that before. Location in downtown Little Italy is close to everything and the price is reasonable.

Incredible food and the service was fantastic! Every time we go back it's just as excellent as the previous time. Love that's its vegan forward and you don't miss anything from non vegan sushi.

I came here with friends this weekend! I absolutely loved the food here. I am vegetarian and have not had many vegetarian/vegan sushi spots. I would come back here again.
