This place tried to be good, but missed the mark.
First, the pepperoni pizza. It was about on par with a costco slice, but with a slightly better sauce. It had some definite Italian spices to it over the costco, but quite similar. If you put it in a costco box you might not tell the difference.
The pastrami sandwich. First it says it's a hot pastrami, but the meat was cold. Colder than room temp, possibly straight from the fridge. The bread was... not toasted, more like if you put a slice of bread on top of a toaster oven when it's on, like the outside had that slight crisp but it was still 100% bread. Here's the curveball. I do not like yellow mustard, but I'll tolerate it on certain sandwiches like pastrami or cuban.... but whatever mustard they used was a banger, it was probably the best yellow mustard I've had, and it really complimented the sandwich. If this was actually a hot pastrami, it would have been 5 stars.
Very reasonable prices, amazing service, beautiful story behind this place. I recommend highly for anyone visiting SD in need of a quick coffee or dessert.
Great slice and being a 1/4 of a pie it was enough to fill me up. Had the bbq chicken and it was was really good. Solid NY style pizza.

Trust me this place sucks. I was scouting places to eat for lunch and I was told by the lady working that they have a good lunch special. I came in a week later for a for lousy pepperoni slice and soda. That doesn't seem like a deal at all.

BEST PIZZA IN SAN DIEGO! And probably the most inexpensive pizza out here. These aren't ordinary slices, you get a quarter pie. All pizzas are made day of! The staff are absolute dolls.
Timmy's Place is a great place to sit down and do some work as well.

I was really impressed with how clean everything is. This place is immaculate! The pizza was very good and they included a decent amount of parmesan and pepper flakes for my takeout order.I didn’t know what a “cookie plug” was, but I’m glad I ordered one - it was delicious and big enough to share. Will definitely go back.

This was by far the best pizza I've had since moving away from the metro Detroit area 5 years ago. True Italian taste with perfect crust.
Everything was five stars. Helping homeless youth while enjoying good pizza- what could be better?! If you like Mexican food you'll enjoy the Mexican pizza which uses chorizo instead of pepperoni and is covered in hot peppers.
