Tried beyond meat burger for dinner, and french toast for breakfast. Both meals were 6/10, edible but flavour wasn't anything special.Service was also okay, we had one bartender at night and he was super nice, attentive. Breakfast servers were all chatting, laughing amongst themselves and didn't really care for clients. I waited almost 15 minutes for a server to take my order in the morning, and the menu isn't large nor was it busy.Overall, eat there if you must, but it's really nothing special in food or service.

Trade is the lobby restaurant at the Hotel Republic Autograph Collection. During my short business stay, I got to try Trade for happy hour, late night bites and lunch. All three of my experiences were great. Bartenders provided prompt, professional, and helpful service. I really appreciated my bartender at lunch for advising me ordering two appetizers would probably be too much and to enjoy another glass of wine with the spectacular Tuna Tacos. This hotel offers the great benefit of a complimentary happy hour glass of wine or cocktail, which was awesome. Observed many guests not tipping on their complimentary cocktails however, which is not cool as the bartenders do a great job there. Ambiance is posh; while it can get pretty packed with corporate party guests, I could always find spot for one at the bar. And they even let me order a simple light grilled chicken breast to go late in the evening so I could have a healthy bite before my morning business meeting. Highly recommend this hotel and Trade when in Downtown San Diego!

This restaurant is in the lobby of Republic Hotel. It has nice interior decor. We came in for brunch but had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated and another 20 minute to get food after we ordered. We ordered the "eggss anyway you want it" and acai bowl. The eggs were pretty standard but the acai bowl was amazing. We also ordered the mocha which was decent but nothing spectacular. Overall, this is a nice place to eat but only if you have time to spare!

The food was ok. Nothing to write home about but also not horrible. We ordered the breakfast burritos and they were a decent size.

The hotel this resides in essentially forced me to eat here during my stay, but I was pleasantly surprised with the breakfast menu. The apple crème brûlée French toast was sweet and delicious as was the açaí bowl. What really put the açaí bowl over the top was the dollop of creamy peanut butter - it's really not your typical fast casual açaí bowl. The chef certainly puts thought and time into these dishes, with each one more delicious than the next during my stay at Hotel Republic. The atmosphere is lovely with many modern elements and a variety of seating arrangements, and their wait staff is very friendly and attentive. Overall my experience here was great - I would come here again of my own free will :)

Breakfast: very good, but expensive. Dinner: Food is good, but dinner menu selection was limited. Service was in the slow side to get menus, etc. once I ordered, the food came quickly. Brought out by a woman I assume was the manager, who was very friendly. Good live music during dinner. Most of what the restaurant had was the convenience factor, as I am staying here for a business trip. Ambience is kind of odd, as it is literally in the hotel lobby.

I had a great experience, in fact, I had such a great experience I had to review instantly (Sunday morning). I didn't catch our server's name but she was great! She made suggestions and answered our questions. The ambiance was pleasant, we were served promptly and our food was quick as well. Our party ordered: Farm fresh eggs, pancakes, nutella stuffed french toast, and a side of bacon. Wow everything was delicious! ... especially the pancakes I must say! Yes, everything is overpriced but I think it's worth it due to the high quality ingredients, location, and ambiance! Again our server was so nice, pleasant, and courteous! Note: I'm a Marriott titanium elite so I did get the breakfast comped but overall, I Highly recommend the restautant.

The menu selection is limited. The descriptions look appealing, but my selections were not executed well. The roasted cauliflower looked and tasted boiled and the portion was small. The Eggs Benedict was full of shells. Disappointing for a boutique hotel venue

Ordered a midnight cravings Dessert. Went and ordered at the bar downstairs around 1130ish. Disappointed they don't offer bone marrow anymore (it's still on their menu tho) We ordered: Cheesecake($10) -came with berries, and Carmel drizzle -reallly good!!! It was the perfect combo whether you took a bite with fruit or driZzle or ice cream Salted Carmel Ice Cream ($6) - came in a coffee up We had to wait awhile - but had good conversation with a fellow hotel guest. And the bartender taking our order was really nice and gave us waters while we waited. Sooo disappointed I forgot to take a picture...

Trade is the lobby lounge and restaurant of the Hotel Republic. I love the decorations and feel of the place whenwalking in, but I feel it's too small to sit and order food in. It feels a little odd because people are also walking back and forth between the lobby doors and the elevator. With that said, we came here for drinks. The cocktail menu tries to be crafty, but the drinks weren't all that unique. I tried a gin and white wine concoction with rosemary, followed by a rum and fernet branca thing. They were okay, but not that special and pricey (as expected at a hotel) for $14. But hey, we had some vouchers to use and wanted a drink. I always saw some people here having drinks or some bites so it must not be that bad for food, but I'm guessing not a destination for people not staying here.
