Clams The food is more a four and a half but you can't give half stars. Food comes in dishes to share sort of tapas style. Really enjoyed the clams and the grilled bread to dip in the sauce. Very flavorful and sumptuous. We also got an angliotti That was really really good as well. The third dish we got was a brisket that had an Asian twist and was a bit too busy for our liking. The meat was definitely cooked well, but it could have done with about three or four less ingredients than it had. For me that good, it needed to be the star and it wasn't.
Our server was excellent, and though we had a reservation for outside we were able to easily be seated inside. It was fun to watch the guys in the kitchen, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I definitely recommend to try at least once and see what you think.

Unfortunately we made our reservation outside seating area, which we thought would romantic for Valentine’s Day, but that was a huge mistake. The heating lamps did not work very good, so both my wife and I had jackets on but we were both freezing throughout the entire dinner. By the time our main entrees arrived we just wanted to eat as fast as possible and leave.
Also, it seemed like the outside area was the least attended to in terms of service. By the time we were ready to leave, it took about an extra 25 minutes to flag down our waiter, ask for the check, wait for said check, give them our card, then wait for them to run the card, the finally give it back to us.
Food itself was good! Unfortunately the experience as a whole left a bad taste in our mouths :(

Great service,nice food limited menu
Great atmosphere great food.
Absolutely phenomenal. Made to share plates and every one of them was great! We didn't try the entree size plates. The cauliflower was exceptional, as well as the carrots and every other one. We shared 8 plates between 4 of us and we're very full. We are trying the other restaurants in their group.

Awesome place. Beef tartare, hamachi aguachile, chicken liver toast, the pasta salad, the ravioli, and the charred carrots.
Beef tartare best thing ive had in months. charred carrots and aguachile also fantastic. Great wines.
Occasionally some weird music.

We ate outside! In January!!! Heaters were great, it was quiet so the five of us could chat, food as always was sooo good and beautifully presented. Very creative menu — not the norm which makes this a special venue. It was not crowded on a Thursday evening at all which made the slower than expected service somewhat surprising. All in all though, I can hardly wait for a return visit! Take friends and share dishes. This is how best to enjoy your meal there.
Potentially the best food I've had in SD. Flavors off the chart, perfect mix. High quality food. Professional service and atmosphere.
Party of 2 dined on 1/24/25. I've been here multiple times before and I never had a service as slow as this one. Our food took a long time, so long that a party of 2 that was seated many minutes after us, ordered after us, and got their food first. Our waitress was also the bartender at the time. Seems like she was covering two jobs because they were short staffed that day and her time was mostly dedicated to bartending and waitressing was an afterthought. When our food was finally delivered, one of the orders was cooked incorrectly. We asked for a medium rare steak and got well done. Because the waitress/bartender was busy, they didn't come check and ended up getting the steak to go. One good thing was the fried rice I ordered, so if you do go to Trust order that over the steak and eggs.
Restaurantji Recommends
If you want to try the best mac and cheese in san diego this is the place, you also need to to try the beef brisket.
Didn't know it was going to be a great experience, good food and very nice restaurant. Pleasantly surprised, and reasonable prices.

Brunch was delicious! Service was friendly and food was on point - pancakes/chicken, burger yes add the egg and bacon, fried rice, taquitos.
Per usual, the food at Trust is delicious and innovative, and cocktails are great. Our server, Sean, was engaging and informative. We'll be back!
Very loud and noisy. Food is too salty, especially the octopus. Not coming back again
