Bone marrow taco was good but not worth it for the price. I would highly recommend getting a torta as well! Overall everything including the hot sauces was perfection.

Delicious rich Birria on handmade tortillas are not your typical tacos in San Diego with their amazing chili oil and marrow. I did not get it this time but it’s a

So good! I can have this everyday! I love the ramen and of course the Tuetano!!!It's right in old town many shops around. Seating is a bit scarce.

The tacos are good. The tortillas seem to be a homemade tortilla. The meat has good flavor and the cheese complements the beef well. The tacos seem on the high end - $6/ea for the quesobirria - which seems to be a bit on the high end. The consome was decent. This is essentially a take out place. There are tables but there’s no service. You order on a computer screen and they call your number when the food is ready. The tacos were good but they’re $6 good. It’s also not a place I’d go out of the way for.

The food looks really good BUT...I don't think we'll be coming back.We ordered a few tacos and their infamous Bone Marrow taco, and I remember the BM taco being quite pricey, and for the price... it was filled with oil & there was barely any meat around or in the bone! And not only was the BM primarily bone... but the other tacos were just dripping in oil & grease. We ended up not finishing the tacos and left feeling pretty unsatisfied I later went to Yelp to see if we just had bad luck, but found that other customers felt similarly about their food. It's a no for us :(

Their ordering system is a little weird. It's a self ordering system. I ordered a birria torta and a consume with no meat. It took around 40 to 50 min to get to me. The bread was past toasted so burned on the inside and top, and weirdly sogy at the same time. The birria itself was okay. Not the best. I would recommend going somewhere else unless you dont mind waiting.

Good spot if you are nearby, but I wouldn't go out of my way to try it again. We order several items on the menu, including tuetanos. The best part of our meal was the birria meat, which was soft and delicious. The broth was also very good, but on the high-end of sodium for our taste. The birria quesa tacos were good, and the salsa was delicious, but for some reason, they didn't compliment each other. We tried the birria tacos with tuetano, and for us, it was a miss. Adding tuetano to the birria tacos was richness overkill. If you like service, this is not the spot for you. You place the order on a terminal and wait for them to call your name. There are no napkins, spoons, lemon, or salsas at your table or in a nearby station. You have to ask the nice one person behind the counter if you need anything. For us, the whole experience felt very impersonal, especially if you compare it with Central birrieria or Ed Fernandez. The atmosphere was nice and music was on point. I'm definitely glad we tried it.

So when you come here there is no server taking your order it is literally a machine so no cash . I came in on my lunch break and ordered 3 tacos which came out to 18 dollars. Not cheap at all then you get a text message that the order is ready and you have to pick up your tacos- they do not bring it to you. Yet they have the audacity to ask for a tip on the machine. Now I asked for a hot sauce and the lady said only 1 per 3 tacos and that I had to go back to the machine and pay for the extra hot sauce. I lost it and immediately asked for refund .Instead of paying so much money for marketing they should treat the clients to an extra sauce if requested. Never coming here again.

Was excited to come here and try this after seeing videos on it. First they only have street parking. The whole restaurant is outdoor and only has outdoor seating, it looked elegant and festive at the same time but I liked the ambiance and the whole vibe, it's a good place to come and chill with your friends or take on a date, it's not too loud and they do have a fire warmer if it gets chilly at night. They "close" at 2000. They stop serving food at 2000 but you can sit and eat your food til later, we didn't leave til 2130. The orders didn't take long to arrive, but their food is expensive. I think for one taco + bone marrow it cost about $14+. Taco was a decent size for a taco, but the bone marrow I got barely had anything in it. And in my sisters she said nothing came out but the oil. So I feel like the bone marrow is a hit or miss. But if we're talking about the taste, it's really good, just a little too oily, that when you take a bite you can feel all the grease dripping down your hands, I don't know if I would be coming back here, kind of iffy but it wasn't too bad. I might come back just to have some of my friends try this place if they want to try something unique!

Delightful little shop in a newer part of Old Town. We'd actually never heard of them before my brother and sister-in-law suggested this as a post-Pride parade lunch spot. They have a semi-large outdoor dining area that was mostly full by the time we arrived, but we were able to snag a table (a dirty table, mind) for the four of us after ordering. To order, you can either place it with an employee at the counter or use one of two self-service kiosks hanging from the wall on either side of the doorway. We went the kiosk route, which was quick, easy and efficient. I went with the Quesabirria taco ($6.50) and a longanisa con queso. My husband got a regular birria taco and the birria quesadilla ($11). Tip: if you do use the kiosk to order, make sure to look for the small whiteboard posted on the counter, near the register. When we were there, it said the wait for food was approximately 30 minutes, and damn if they didn't text us right at the 30-minute mark. And also, of the four of us there that day, I was the only one to notice the sign. I had to bring it up when everyone started getting antsy. The food definitely was tasty, if maybe a bit too salty for my liking. They serve it with this insanely delicious hot sauce that none of us could get enough of. Also, they charge extra for the consommé, but you can save yourself the $9 (!!!) because the tacos are so juicy you won't even notice the broth is missing. The tacos are the perfect size, but the quesadilla was massive. I'm surprised my husband was able to finish it and the taco, though he did say he was at capacity when he was through. We've talked about going back - partly for more tacos, partly because I wasn't able to get donuts from the shop next door that day (they were closed) - but we haven't made it back just yet. I'm sure we will soon, though.

Ordered four crispy Quesabirria tacos, two bone marrows, a birria consomme and a coke. I'd give a four star for flavour, but I give a three due to the expensive price.Pros -Tacos were pretty decent. Nice and juicy.Nice spot on the deck.Cons -Very expensive in my opinion. $49.03 for not a ton of food. The bone marrow is a bit of a gimmick in my opinion. You don't get a whole lot for $7.50 a piece. The consomme was ok, and you honestly don't really need it as the birria tacos were already quite juicy. So unless you want something to sip on, it's not necessary. Not sure why, but the order took quite a while. 20 minutes for tacos. Surprising since you'd think everything is prepped before hand. And the place wasn't that busy.

I love visiting Old Town except on weekends when parking is challenging. Visiting on a weekday at 11am it was like a ghost town. I found Tuetano Taqueria inside the Urban Market Food Hall. I ordered a regular birrea taco and a birrea taco on a homemade corn tortilla. The regular birrea taco came with a crunchy corn taco which I loved the corn flavor and the crunchy texture. It was stuffed with tender and juicy birrea. Loved the flavor of the birrea.Homemade corn tortilla was fluffy and had a mild corn flavor. Very tasty but I prefer the flavor and texture of the crunchy corn tortilla. Like the regular birrea taco this one had an excellent meat to tortilla ratio. These tacos were larger than street tacos but not by alot. 2 make a good lunch but I'd get 3 for dinner. Staff was nice and efficient. Great place to get birrea tacos. Hurry in and visit as I read they are moving to Chula Vista.

Some of the best tacos I’ve had! The bone marrow is an amazing addition to the birria tacos. Tortillas also seem to be home made. Even the chorizo one was delicious! Next door you can get also get elote, donuts and drinks.
