Drinks are great. Dinner is incredibly lackluster, its fine for the novelty but would not if you want a good meal. Would recommend for drinks, definitely not for dinner. I personally dont plan on going back and wouldnt recommend to friends

This is a small location with strong retro vibes. Bar seating and lounge type couches for the booths. The star of the show is the grill in center, so bring your best grilling skills and appetite.

I haven't been to the Turf Club in 30 years. Back then, it was a charming, warm, friendly environment with great food and fantastic cocktails. I don't know why you crossed my mind today. But, I'm so happy to read the great reviews and know you're still in business. I live on the east coast now, if I ever get back to San Diego, I'm gonna share your experience with my beautiful wife. Thank you for the great memories.
Love the Turf Club!

For thousands of years, man gathered around a fire and roasted meats. Long before the dawn of agriculture and civilization, our ancestors came together for warmth, sharing our kills and fire with one another, forging the bonds of family and community across a makeshift hearth.
Now you can experience this same community, and be absolutely hammered while doing it. The drinks flow like water from a fresh mountain stream and go down easy, and the meat, while expensive, is tender and flavorful. The community you find here, a ragtag mishmash of characters, anyone from the most broey PB Padres fans to local jazz nerds unwinding after a long day of extended chords and key modulations, will find common ground at the shared grill, and for a moment, a single night, we will be safe from the beasts and elements.
I got the ribeye because it's by far the best cut, and the sausage, because it's the wurst. Both tasted like primal society ripping itself from the boundaries of instinct and into the modern age.
I got a minty dessert cocktail and that shit was delicious.
Everyone working was a total sweetheart

Super cool old school spot. I’ve dubbed it “American Hibachi”. Grill your own steak which is awesome. Drinks were fantastic as well highly recommend the their martinis.

Great ambiance
It’s tucked in the west end of South Park, definitely gives off that “old soul” vibe. The building’s from the ’50s and proudly hasn’t had a facelift since the 70’s, which kind of adds to the charm. Inside, it’s dimly lit with cozy booths, a long bar, and a dining area with a random BBQ pit right in the middle, kind of wild, but it works.
Drinks, strong and dangerous. I had a margarita that definitely tried to flirt back 🫣 lol. Went with the T-bone, solid size, decent flavor, but the skirt steak! That was the real MVP. Marinated to perfection. Next time, I’m ordering the skirt steak!
It wasn’t packed, but had a steady crowd, and the staff was on point. Definitely worth a return trip!

Great supper club! Nostalgic with good vibe, good music and dim lighting! Reasonably priced menu options.

“I visited “turf “recently and felt that the seating arrangements were unfair. There were large booths available, but I was asked to sit at a small table in a crowded area. When I requested to be seated at a booth, I was told it wasn’t possible, despite the place not being busy. This experience was disappointing, and I hope they can improve their customer service in the future.” I don’t know if it was a discriminatory thing or a race thing…. But I don’t live here just wouldn’t recommend to my people 🤷♀️

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 13 years, never once had a positive experience here and it seems to be getting perpetually worse.
