Ultreya Coffee and Tea

The vibes here were great — small, cute shop with a cozy atmosphere and a really nice merch section. The pastries we tried were delicious, especially the blueberry muffin.

Unfortunately, the coffee missed the mark for me. I ordered a mac nut latte and a Vietnamese iced coffee, but both were extremely sour — it seemed like the espresso was under-extracted. I ended up tossing the drinks, which was disappointing given how nice everything else was.

If I lived nearby, I’d probably give them another shot because the place itself has potential. But since I don’t, this will likely be a one-time visit.

I live a block away and finally decided to stop in… and now I’m mad at myself for not coming sooner 😂 They seriously have the best matcha ever. I’m super picky about my matcha and this one totally blew me away — so smooth and not too sweet.
I’ve already been back three times this week (oops) and I can tell I’m gonna be a regular. The vibes are awesome, the staff is super friendly, and the food + drinks are all so good. Can’t wait to check out their little sister spot next door soon!

Ultreya is hands down my favorite coffee shop in San Diego. Their drinks are amazing, the owners are so kind, welcoming, and love coffee. The vibes of the shop are immaculate!

All 4 days I stayed in SD I had the same matcha. It was absolutely delicious and I wish this place was in my hometown so I can have it daily! The service was friendly. I will be back.

Great little spot - their sandwiches are a must!

Came in with my sister and got a vanilla matcha, the peak season coffee and some bagels. Everything was super delicious and the staff are very friendly. Great atmosphere too!

What in the world … this place is bomb! I lived a block from here for years and since moved and came back to find this gem!

It’s well decorated, styled and has good seating for hanging or work given the tight OB space.

I went out on a limb and asked for a rec from the barista and she directed me to the Gingah Beer - with caffeine, a cold coffee with foam and ginger beer - I have never experienced such a wonder of a drink! A total delight and worth the 7 min drive over the hill from PL and the effort of finding parking.

Lots of vegan food options, gluten free options and yummy looking bagels from the non gf. I’ll be back to try to açaí bowl in the future.

Coffee was yummy and smooth. I got a decaf vanilla latte with oatmilk and was impressed by its quality. The staff was quick, kind, and took the extra time to make sure my decaf shot was dialed in.

Got a half decaf four shot iced latte with cinnamon with MacNut milk. Never had macadamia nut milk, and it didn't disappoint. Great flavor and although I do miss the price coffee used to be, to be fair everything is expensive now, and I feel like this was worth the price. No bitterness cuz a good hit of espresso. 😁
