We tried the original flavor of Uncle Tetsu cheesecake and honestly will need to return to try the rest of the flavors! Each bite melts in your mouth it’s the type of slice you’ll want to enjoy every single bite! Will definitely be returning ?. Parking can be tricky but plenty of street parking for sure. Service was above and beyond!

Nice little shop that just opened up next to Kura Revolving Sushi bar. We had lunch next door and decided to check out these Japanese cheesecake.The store was small but the cashier was very nice. Waited patiently as we decided what we wanted to get to try at home.We settled on a matcha cheesecake. It was worth a try but my family didn't like it. It felt like I was eating a wet undercooked dense sponge cake. Just a bit different, haha.

Great cheesecake. So quick and easy to grab and GO! I hate the parking lot where they are located, so just be patient and make sure you are going the right way!

Cheesecake is light and fluffy. You can eat a few bites and not realize you almost ate the whole cake lol. We've tried almost all their flavors and Ube is probably our fave.

We had the opportunity to try many Japanese style cheesecakes while in Japan. They're known for their extremely light, fluffy, but very creamy and cheesy flavor. There's a height to the pastry and it jiggles without having to shake it vigorously. We had high hopes buying Uncle Tetsu's original flavor. The one we received was not fluffy or light at all. In fact it was so wet as if someone purposefully spilled syrup on it or drenched it with water. Essentially a wet sponge cake. Either it's old and had been sitting on display for a while or was not baked or packaged properly letting the sponge absorb the steam of the cake. Cheesetella in OC and LA is the closest thing we could find to the fluffy cheesecake brands we had in Japan.

Uncle Tetsu has become a pinnacle in my family home . This is my one true cheesecake love! I was there in the grand opening , and tried it for the first time. Now here I am still going to this day. The quality is never lacking and you can tell that the workers, put so much love and effort in those cheesecakes. I hope they know how appreciative I am of them. Thank you Uncle Tetsu for such delicious food!
If you are looking for good Japanese cheesecake then I totally recommend uncle Tetsu in convoy. The flavors are great, me and my family have tried most of the menu and I will for sure be back. The service there is also amazing. When we first went there we got our order mixed up and they were kind enough to assist us and give us an extra cake for the inconvenience. I really need to go back and try everything else that I couldn't get their at uncle Tetsu.

i love uncle tetsu cheesecakes!!! ive gotten at least 8 or 9 from here already-- birthdays, ceremonies, picnics, parties, you name it. everyone loves uncle tetsu. the cakes are SO soft, the flavors are so good!! not too sweet and perfectly moist. my favorite flavors are matcha and original, but ube is good too!! the staff are very nice, the atmosphere is great. the bakery is clean, location is welcoming. i love uncle tetsu's and i will always come back here. my fav bakery for japanese cheesecakes (and im very picky!)

Stopped by to pick up some Japanese cheesecake as a gift to the hard working folks at the nearby SD family circle adult daycare center. $39 for 3 mid size cheesecake is reasonable. Pick any flavors, i got original, ube & pandan

This is a takeout place for delicious Japanese cheesecake (so "atmosphere" isn't really applicable). Located in a little strip mall off of Convoy, Uncle Tetsu has finally landed in San Diego. I'd been to the LA locations and I'm a fan! Their 'original' plain cheesecake is the light and fluffy Japanese version that's just so tasty! (Think a cross between cheesecake and angel food cake and you're close). Also available are the Oreo version - a little sweeter and more chocolate-y, as well as versions that are closer to cheesecake as Americans know it, and little tarts. If you've never had it, give it a try- it might become a favorite! PS. the "presentation" of the little cheesecakes in the box is ?Parking: Parking can be a challenge, especially on weekends and certain times of day. If the little kids of full, it might be worth parking at another close section of strip mall and walking over. There are a few "30min" spots out front that you might be lucky enough to get.
