Before taking our granddaughter rollerskating, we stopped to get my husband a carne asada burrito. It smelled so good, I took a bite. The meat was so good, I ordered my own (which I never do because the meat is so tough at other places). They were huge. I had enough for dinner

First time visiting. There is a yoga house that’s right next door that I’ve been going to for over 5 years but I stepped foot inside Vallarta for the first time today. I was dying of hunger and wanted egg whites and steak specifically. At first the lady up front said they couldn’t make it egg whites but I guess the chefs in the back heard me and made just what I wanted. Food was good and atmosphere was clean and and inviting. I highly recommend.

I’ve been going to Vallarta Express in Mira Mesa for over a year now and have always loved this place for its prices and generous portions. The service has consistently been friendly, and it’s been one of my go-to spots for a quick meal.

Unfortunately, today’s visit was by far the worst experience I’ve had here. The staff were friendly as usual, but the issue was with the food itself. I ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon,eggs, no beans, and I asked to substitute the potatoes for fries since the potatoes are usually too soft for my liking. About a quarter of the way through my burrito, I found what appeared to be a metal shaving, likely from a dish-washing bristle scrubber, inside the burrito.

I’m extremely thankful I noticed it before swallowing. Something like that could seriously injure someone or send them to the hospital. This kind of mistake is concerning and shows a lack of attention to food safety.

I’ve always recommended Vallarta Express to friends and family, but after this experience, I’m honestly not sure if I’ll be returning. I hope the restaurant takes this as an opportunity to improve their kitchen safety and quality control.

My wife ordered a shredded beef chimichanga. When we got home we had a carne Asada plate instead. They also forgot to put sour cream on my burrito. Disappointed!

Came in for a quick bite with a friend. I got the bean and cheese burrito 🌯 with sour cream added. Can't complain, it was a good price and filled me up and didn't give me ⛽.

I have Philly chicken burrito and if you got a big appetite then that or any of they burrito will fill you up. I could finish mine. My coworker had a christian fries and it was also a lot that my co-worker couldn't finish it. We both had a small orchard drink and was good as well. The people were friendly and helpful.

Great food but horrible service. Even in the drive thru. Don’t expect a smile, hello or any courteous behavior. All I got was eye rolls, huff and puffs(which is pathetic to do as an adult) and long waits.

It’s really sad that I can’t find any Mexican place that knows how to make a breakfast burrito. That thing was STUFFED with rice and beans. 95% beans and 5% egg. So sad.

I was served a meal here that had a foreign object in it. The staff refunded me, but I didn’t receive an apology or much concern about the issue. While mistakes happen, I would have appreciated more accountability and care in how it was handled.
