The ambulatory surgical unit (for me) was top notch. They took excellent care of me before, during & after my surgery & they kept my daughter in the loop at all times (one less thing for me to worry about). The unit, my procedure team- my doctor- the chaplain- very awesome! Mahalos! 🤙🏼

ER is pure trash for allowing whoever that Dr is practice there. When I get his name I will amend this! He's dangerous and has no business working anywhere; let alone on the vulnerable Veteran population. I'm currently waiting for the ER Chief to call me and I'll update this. Arrogance has no place in medicine!

As a veteran with 10 years experience working for the VA in another state. They didn't even interview me the first time. The second time I was given an interview after I bugged them. They were asking me incriminating questions during my interview. I am being told they selected someone who is a veteran. I'm a CP 10 point preference with 10 years experience in another VA yet can't get an interview and treated this bad. I won't be going there anytime soon. I don't recommend them at all.

The VA hospital in San Diego is the greatest. They recently performed cataract surgery for both eyes. They gave this old Photographer his eyesight back. They are super professional. They explained every step. They were friendly and made you feel confident. Thanks from heart.

Emergency care was very prompt on both my visits and their staff from being admitted through emergency, ICU, DOR, and every department in between, provided professional personal care as if you were a family member. So many names I'd like to extend my gratitude to as they all equally deserve recognition for their passion towards humanity, health and wellness. One person I'd like to surely commend would be Jim in the DOR department. His knowledge sharing and taking the extra time to explain and breakdown my situation really helped me make a life changing decision for the better. Thank you everyone at the LA Jolla VA Medical Center

Very unfortunately this terrible place is veterans only option. Complete indifference. Just a hundred buffer systems and people trained not to help. Attitude problems is a huge understatement. And if you lodge a complaint, they simply email the office that is at the source of the issue. If they they address the thing they denied or ignored in the first place, case closed. So essentially they don’t address a problem until it’s an official complaint

I was ALWAYS treated with absolute respect by every doctor, nurse and employees I visited. No one rushed me every one listened, the were attentive, and excellent. I felt like Family.
