Vin de Syrah is a fun and cozy bar with a semi-hidden door, known for its decent selection of California wines and whiskey. The atmosphere is loved by many, with a video selfie station and a DJ adding to the vibe. Although there were no servers, the experience was enjoyable. A gem of the restaurant was the security guard, Gustavo, who made the visit memorable. Overall, despite being a bit pricey, Vin de Syrah is a place worth revisiting.
It is also an interesting experience. Located in the basement of a vintage hotel, the space gives an almost Alice In Wonderland vibe, where guests can enjoy drinks on drinks. If visitors stay late enough into the night, the place can turn into a nightclub of some sort. While not everyone may stay that long, during visits, guests can sit in booths along the sides and receive great service while sipping drinks to wind down from the day. The prices are pretty standard, so it’s good to be fuel efficient and enjoy one or two drinks.
The staff also contributes to the positive atmosphere. The waitress-hostess had a great personality, making connections with the guests. The staff, including Bo, are known for being kind, true, and fun, bringing great energy to the place.
Overall, Vin de Syrah offers a unique vibe, good drinks, and a friendly environment, making it a good spot to start or finish a night out in the Gaslamp district.
