I gave the food 5 stars but did not eat here. I believe that it isn't fair to give negative reviews on it if you haven't tried it. Overall, loved the vibe. Around the corner behind the fireplace there was the video selfie station which was fun. I loved the atmosphere. It wasn't busy when we went, but there was a DJ which I appreciated. It is underground so if you don't know it is there then you may not find it which I appreciate. There were no servers so that was a bit annoying. We were sitting in the four chairs by the fireplace and one of our party members had to go and get drinks and miss out on the conversation. Overall though I would definately go back.

Gustavo was a gem in the rough. After encountering countless other security guards who did nothing but check my ID and let in the club, this man put a smile in my face and gave me memories that would last forever.

I had been eager to visit this place for months, intrigued by its Alice in Wonderland theme. While I hoped for a bit more, it certainly lived up to my expectations. The ambiance was just right--classy and whimsical.Arriving on a Sunday around 8 pm meant it wasn't crowded, which was nice. The bartenders were attentive and took their time going over the cocktail menu with us.My husband, who's quite particular about his Old Fashioned, was pleasantly surprised by his choice. As for me, I opted for the Beet It and loved its fruity flavor.I'll be returning to explore more of their cocktail options.

Nice and classy place in the Gaslamp district! Located in the basement on the fifth street - it is a bit hard to spot! Going down the stairs into the basement it gives an impression of speak easy access during the prohibition era! It is a mix of wine bar and speak easy as focus is wine! During our visit there was also a burlesque show which was pretty good! Food choices are a few - caprese we shared was pretty good with addition of arugula a salad. Wine list is exhaustive - but the bottle of wine we ordered was unavailable so we settled for a different one. The only downside here is service. We waited 30 minutes from walking in till our wine arrived...

Reviewing Vin De Syrah from the standpoint of a bar/ club atmosphere! It was nice and well kept, and staff were kind. The DJ they hired played pretty good music and there was a fun crowd dancing, but not so busy that there's no space to move. It was a good time but nothing spectacular.

Security wouldn’t accept an Italian ID apparently only locals are welcome. Won’t be back.
Really cool atmosphere and a great look. Unfortunately the service was not very good. We were there for over an hour and was only able to order one drink. The drinks were great, when we finally got one and never saw our waitress again. Had to go to the bar to close out our tab. Was not even busy when we were there. I would definitely give it another shot, but as far as this visit.... very disappointing.

Stumbled upon this place on Friday, Feb 17th. whoever the DJ was....had me on the dancefloor the entire night. Vin De Syrah is A WHOLE vibe! Just as much fun as dancing in Tulum, MX.A++++++++++++

Was excited to come back to Vin De Syrah after celebrating new years here. Had booked a 6 pm reservation to celebrate galentines with my friends. After checking our ID the host said it was open seating. After being seated about 7-10 minutes with waitresses walking by but no one addressing us we walked up to the bar and asked how to order. We were told at the bar but were given no menus at the bar or our table since we had arrived. We ended up leaving and were snarkily told "to have a good night". Will not be coming back here again.
