Great shaved ice! I felt like I was again at my favorite jaunt shaved ice place in North shore Matsumoto. Only thing is I'm not in the north shore but at a strip mall. Prices are reasonable and a plenty of flavors to choose from. Clean and friendly staff..

Wahine Kai holds a very near & dear place to my heart. I used to come here all the time when I was in high school and my friends and I would all get our own milk tea and occasionally split a strawberry shave snow. I've since moved far away, but was in the area and just had to stop by. This little mom & pop shop still has all the same charm as it had all those years ago. And it was so good to see a familiar face as I've always been served by the same kind gentleman. As a university student this place brings a much welcomed nostalgic feeling. I hope i have the opportunity to come here more often because this place is the absolute best!

I ordered the Kona Luau shave ice (chocolate ice cream, topped with shave ice, vanilla syrup, and condensed milk). It was good, average. However, the shop is untidy and dirty. The windows and the glass counters don’t look like they’ve been cleaned in a year and the whole place has a grimy feel to it. After reading the review about the ice bag being dragged on the floor and then placed and emptied into an ice chest, I probably won’t return. Yuck.

My friend and I went today and got mango shaved snow and taro Korean bing su. They were both delicious and the portions were HUGE for a cheap price. The man who helped us was very sweet and attentive. There are numerous options for all the various types of items like boba and ice cream and shaved ice and such.

I miss going to Hawaii and eating shave ice everyday. I found this place and instantly felt like I was in Hawaii. From the decorations to the music to the items on the menu, it felt very authentic. The shave ice melts in my mouth and it is so flavorful. I like adding condensed milk and mochi. There are a TON of flavors to try from. It is different from shaved ice, and in my opinion, so much better. I highly recommend coming here!
