It's one of those experiences that while you're experiencing it you're already looking forward to repeating it.

My fiancé, mom and I had an amazing dinner at Warung Rie Rie. The food was delicious, and they were able to accommodate my mom’s food sensitivities. Chef Rie and her husband are delightful. It was such a unique experience. Everything was excellent. We will definitely be back!
Dietary restrictions: The menu for each month is pre-selected, so this may not be the place for you if you have severe allergies or dietary restrictions. Chef Rie was able to accommodate my mother’s food allergies, but it’s not always the case.

This is the best place to eat in San Diego! By far! Not only do you get a luxury experience of eating with your loved ones or friends alone but you get a grand tour of the space! It’s amazing! The food is amazing! The atmosphere is incredible!!! I honestly don’t love living in San Diego, but this place makes me feel more happy to be here. Thank you to this family for opening their home to the public! And educating us! We love everything about this space! Thank you thank you and I highly recommend! It is a wait, but it’s totally worth it!

They canceled our appointment 5 days before the reservation even though they knew about our dietary restrictions months in advance when we first made the reservation. When we first scheduled, they said that the entire summer menu was gluten free & no modifications were needed.
Today, she texted and called multiple times all day while I was at work to pressure me into canceling my dinner even though I told her I do not have a severe gluten allergy. I explained that cross contamination is ok. If your menu is gluten free as you promised, no accommodations needed to be made. It went on like this all day until I finally canceled out of frustration.
What an unpleasant and annoying experience.

It's another shop that doesn't focus on luxury! But on food and service experience.Emphasizes the uniqueness of Indonesian food. The reservation queue is a year long, It was an honor to be invited by my husband and friends. The shop open it on day off especially for us. What is impressive ….they Welcoming us like a family, smiling, walking in you feeling like entering your own home and have dinner with friends in your backyard. And most importantly, the owner of the restaurant came up with a vegetarian menu for me..!The results is amazing. It's very well done and good the same as the restaurant's main menu. Spectacular experience meeting a lovely and talented couple who host small dinners in Indonesian style. Reservations are challenging but keep trying and your party of 6 can learn and taste the spirit of Indonesia.
We had a seafood 6 course menu (menus change monthly) what was a tasty party. Dining is by a fire pit or in the Warung (rice house which was dismantled, transported and reassembled).
Great experience. We learned a lot about the customs and cuisine of Indonesia as well as how one goes about opening and operating a cottage business.

There is a reason why they are fully booked for a year. Excellent Food. Excellent atmosphere. Excellent service. Chef Rie and Husband Dave entertained us like family. They gave us a glimpse of the Indonesian culture and cuisine. The stories of behind each menu item gave a more personal touch . Dining inside the Warung also elevated the atmosphere into another level.It is sad that other reviewers LIE because the "line" is long and complaining about the price. The worst part is they are writing a review and have never been there. It is one thing that they review a terrible experience, but to lie about it even though they have not even been a customer... Wow! They are liars to the bone. Such a "snubbish and elitist" person. As I have mentioned above, there is a reason why they are fully booked for a year.I am looking forward to a our third experience, this time with other friends and relative. It's worth the wait.
