DISAPPOINTED! Selected this restaurant because it was convenient and had many positive recent reviews, a large menu, and we were visiting family and attending a baseball game. Service was overall good, drinks were fairly priced for an upscale restaurant in San Diego, and ambiance was okay- but NOT off the charts spectacular compared to big city restaurants in this genre. Ordered cocktails, one salad, one entree, and crab cake appetizer to be served as entree. Presentation was standard, portions were remarkably SMALL, and prices were RIDICULOUSLY HIGH considering the skimpy portions, especially the halibut. Sadly, we left both fairly hungry and a bit underwhelmed. Unfortunately, don't think we'll be returning- and yes- we were celebrating a birthday.

The location was amazing. Central to hotels, Petco park and every bar you can imagine. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I gave the food 4 stars because while my dish was one of the best meals I have ever had (sea bass), unfortunately my husband's halibut was dry and lacking flavor. The server was very understanding and the manager took the meal off our bill. 10/10 in service overall! If you have a chance get the Sea Bass you will not be disappointed!!!

Oysters were great. Clam chowder okay. Swordfish was dry and had no flavor at all and scallops overcooked. Basically everything was bad to mediocre other than oysters which they really do nothing to other than serve.

Excellent meal! The abundance of seafood choices was almost overwhelming, but we quickly zeroed in on several. The salad was large and tasty, the halibut preparation was very creative, delicious and cooked to perfection, and the side of squash was the tastiest I've ever eaten.  You can't miss here!

Outstanding customer service experienced. The friendly staffs, guided by Josh, clearly creates a welcoming atmosphere. The combination of a nice ambiance with delicious food is certainly appealing. A place that truly values its customers and their dining experience. Overall, a highly enjoyable place to dine.
I ordered the lobster and it was horrible, the meat in the tell was mushy, not firm like it should be and my previous visit the crab had the same texture. This was the worst lobster I have ever encountered. The meal was so horrible I asked the manager to comp the whole meal and he refused, serving garbage and charging for it. I've always enjoyed the fresh seafood at Water Grill but after last night I'll never step foot in that place again.

Had a wonderful dinner at Water Grill. We created our own surf and turf, got the lobster and a ribeye to share plus mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts as our sides. The drinks were amazing and the service was top notch!

Sean was a great waiter! Glad to have met him... asked the host about cake for birthday but didn't get that! Food was great but the calamari wasn't as good as expected! Everything else was amazing!

We enjoyed our experience, the waiters are so kind, friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drink. They make it easy to make the right choices. We actually left a wallet and phone and they called us once they found it and we picked it up not concerned anything had been taken. Quality restaurant and we are so grateful for the integrity of the staff!!!
