We enjoyed our experience, the waiters are so kind, friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drink. They make it easy to make the right choices. We actually left a wallet and phone and they called us once they found it and we picked it up not concerned anything had been taken. Quality restaurant and we are so grateful for the integrity of the staff!!!
Great experience for my husband's birthday. Food was really good and it was a very nice atmosphere!
This is a great restaurant for all ages, but definitely great for a date night! The food was fabulous, so many choices!
No complaints- expect delicious food, attentive staff, and an upscale atmosphere. Solid. Try that banana chocolate sundae.
when in SD, i alwayz choose 2 pay a visit here, esp 4 their yummy bay scallops, oysters & steamed clams 🙂 love da vibe & decor & service is usually above average we ordered couple beers & then started off w bay scallops, no complaints there ~ we had oysters just couple hrs prior @KETCH & GRILL so we opted out oysters here ~ then as we snapped fotos of steamed clams, we got a call 2 inform us that we needed 2 head back 2 LA right away so we boxed up clams 2 go but when we were ready 2 have some @home, every piece of clam was sandy ðŸ˜
Lovely venue for date night. Knowledgeable servers, great cocktails, delicious entrees. We love this place every time!
Party of 6 after the Padre game. Walked across the street and were seated immediately. Service was outstanding. The staff was very accomodating. Very friendly and our Server was extremely knowledgeable of the menu. I Highly recommend the seafood tower. Overall, awesome experience.
Food was good but overpriced. Service was prompt even though the server was overworked. An equally good meal can be had less expensively at other restaurants in the Gaslamp quarter.
My husband and I dined at Water Grill for the first time before a concert at Padre Stadium. The staff was aware and very attentive to us and the time. We ordered a dozen oysters and the Grand Seafood platter. All of the seafood was fresh. We enjoyed our meal with a vodka martini and an Old Fashioned. Such an enjoyable experience. We will be back
Absolutely amazing! We arrived early and sat at the oyster bar where we were treated like royalty. Chris shucked a dozen amazing oysters while the bar manager, forgot his name sadly, introduced us to some amazing cocktails. We then moved to our wonderful window seat which was spacious and open to the fresh San Diego air. We both ordered the most amazing Copper Canyon Salmon that was cooked to absolute perfection. And the amazing bread anyway we will return.

Food was disappointing. I had to send a drink back because it had an odd odor, like one of the ingredients have gone bad. One of our side dishes came undercooked. They did take these things off the bill, which I appreciate it. My kids ordered the mac & cheese as a side. It was so dense and heavily laden, you could hardly scoop the noodles out.
I hate to leave a review like this but our visit was extremely disappointing, overall. The service we recieved and the kind card congratulating us on our recent wedding was the highlight of the evening. They also gave us a really cute cookie dessert at the end of our dinner. However, that is the extent of the positives: - The lobster bisque that I ordered as an appetizer had two small pieces of lobster among three very large croutons - however, the presentation was beautiful and this was also the only dish that I had with any flavor. - We ordered broccolini as well and it came with "Chinese sausage". The broccolini was extremely bland and the sausage appeared to be a dried sausage, which you could tell wasn't cooked with the broccolini and it tasted like something that should be a part of a completely different dish - like charcuterie board? The broccolini was also sitting in a dark sauce that tasted like chocolate to me. It wasn't pleasant and again didn't feel appropriate for the dish. - For my entree, I ordered the Mexican sea bass. Again, it was flavorless and the dish was pretty dry. I also bit into a fish bone, sat it on the side of my plate to show the server, and was told by the server that they "don't fillet our fish here...". So that was the solution to that I guess. - My husband ordered his steak entree "medium" and it was overcooked. It was also unseasoned/bland. - The signature cocktails all seemed to have pineapple in them, which seemed more appropriate for a tiki bar but not a formal seafood restaurant. I tried two and the sweetness of the pineapple overpowered both. Our meal came to just under $200 total and we walked away extremely disappointed. Very over priced for the quality of food that we received.
The food was amazing! Our server, Melanie, was outstanding!! Great menu and drink selections. The only negative thing I would say would be our parking experience. Our bad for booking a dinner reservation around the time of the start of a Padres game. Water Grill is just down the street from Petco Park and parking was a challenge!! Despite that, our experience was Excellent!!
Took way to long for drinks, food was barely warm and server never checked on . For a $250 lunch for 2. Not worth it
Water Grill SD was absolutely amazing. They outperformed in every occasion. The seafood deluxe platter was spectacular with an incredible taste and freshness. The octopus was also equally amazing. And the staff altogether were incredible and attentive. We had an amazing dinner experience there. Would highly recommend and visit again 5/5.
