This is a must stop for anyone looking for true SD craft beer, specially if you are into homebrewing. Service and Pizza are also amazing.
Such a cool and unique place to visit. It's wonderful as a stand-alone brewery, but it's especially exceptional as if you are into craft brewing or wine. You can come hang out in the tasting room and try different styles of beer make with various types of yeast in the house. A wonderful place to try their products.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. You can also come get the freshest yeats for your home craft brewing adventures.
There is a covered outdoor patio that is wonderful for the San Diego weather. Losts of tables to sit at indoors, and a large bar where you can hang out. There are several tvs that always have the sports all the time!
This is a fun and unique experience. Highly recommended.
Great venue for our professional organization (AWIS San Diego) spring celebration! Tasty đ beer and food, nice areas for networking over treats and even a conference room for the formal presentation portion of the event. Science đ§Ș themed decor was a bonus for our group that supports women in STEM.
Letâs start with the good news: the pizza. A sourdough crust that crackles with every bite, pepperoni with a crisp that could cut glass, and a sauce with just enough heat to make you feel something. Itâs not just goodâitâs art. The kind of pizza you remember in moments of quiet reflection.
Now, the beer. If youâve got a PhD in fermentation science, congratulationsâyouâve found your temple. The selection is yeast-forward, complex, and meticulously brewed. Every sip says, âWe know what weâre doing.â
But God help you if you walk in without a brewing encyclopedia in your back pocket. The service? Cold. Condescending. Like we interrupted a TED Talk to ask what a lager is. The bartender made it clear: if youâre not already in the club, donât expect a warm welcome. I wasnât ordering a Manhattan on MarsâI just asked what was on tap.
So yes, the product is exceptional. But the experience? Itâs like being served filet mignon by someone who thinks youâre too stupid to eat it.
White Labs could be something truly special⊠if they remembered that hospitality is as much a science as brewing.
Great beer and amazing service!
Great selection of beers, loves the concept of same beer with two different yeast strains
If you are looking for a dog friendly taproom with amazing beer, amazing staff and amazing food then you can stop here because youâve found it. Been going here for years and would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Havenât had pizza crust this good ever since moving from the east coast. Unique experience of drinking beers as you can have the same beer but have different yeasts.
Pizza is bomb
This place is a gem!

Need to go back and try more brews, but the ones I tried were good and the pizza was great. Would recommend.
As a scientist by day, coming to White Labs was an absolute treat. If you havenât been here before, White labs is a premier yeast maker for commercial and home brewers across the globe. They do tours of their facility on Friday and Saturday at 2pm and 3:30pm. Our tour was with Matt who was a wealth of knowledge about brewing, yeast, science, and the history of the business. I was enthralled for the 30ish minute tour.
The tasting room is unique in comparison to others in âbeeramesaâ - they had a huge range of beers that are split and brewed with different strains of yeast to show you how much the yeast makes a difference in color, taste, viscosity, etc.
We tried several dual beers including the Kolsch, the 20C, the Heff, and the Buchner IPA. My favorite was the Buchner for its crisp flavor and citrus tones. The heff has a lot of banana in it, and the Kolsch definitely has a bit of Belgian funk to it.
I will certainly be back with friends in tow. This is a perfect place for a casual hang or to bring people from out of town. Loved the beer, the people, and the atmosphere!
Interesting microbrew pub. They brew beers with same ingredients except they use different types of yeasts. They serve food also
Well honestly I didnât try the food or the beer. We didnât get a chance to. They closed an hour early-7:00- because no one was there until 5.
They open after lunch and close at dinner time.
I called to see how late they served and got an answer machine. 3 customers and they canât answer the phone. So I would suggest you go try the place out because I didnât think they will be in business very much longer.
Neat spot. My only issue is the clientele, which isn't the brewery's fault; very mainstream, toxic male vibe.
