Had a fantastic first-time visit to YikoYiko in San Diego while celebrating a birthday for a family member --- came on a recommendation since I'm not local, and it did not disappoint!
This spot is a super cute little shop that instantly screams elite bakery vibes. Watching the girls in the back hustle like true professionals was a highlight, beautiful to see that level of craft in action.
We grabbed a cake that was outstanding: perfectly moist with a light, balanced sweetness that let the all the flavors shine without overwhelming my tongue with sugar. Loved the thoughtful touch of the included little cutter kit, so convenient for easy serving.
This is absolutely the kind of place you return to just to try everything else on the menu. Highly recommend for birthdays or any special treat!

This place is a total rip-off. Ten bucks for seven sad, rubbery mochi balls that tasted like disappointment. In this day and age, charging that much for garbage-quality food is straight-up insulting. Stay away at all cost . This place is all hype

I bought my kid a small personal Oreo cake for $15. She hated it. I hated it too as it tasted of salty soap. The interior is pleasant, maybe bring your own picnic though.

I went in for the first time a week ago and ordered a custom birthday cake and the staff were so kind and accommodating to what i asked for, and the cake looked exactly like the picture i showed them! The cake was delicious and even though it was pricey i would definitely buy from them again for upcoming holidays, the quality was incredible and it tasted so fresh!

I really enjoyed the matcha crepe cake and the blueberry milk. I like that the desserts aren’t overly sweet here and made with organic ingredients (huge plus). Though the prices are definitely higher than most dessert places.

Snowball mochi here is absolutely amazing! I really hope they expand their flavor options because mango is my absolute favorite, but I’d love to see more variety. Since no one else in San Diego makes fresh mochi like this, it would be cool if they experimented with new fillings like raspberry cream snowball mochi, strawberry with chocolate cream, or even ice cream-filled mochi. Or what about a customizable mochi option🤨

Regarding the individual cakes, the value proposition did not align with the price point, as the flavor profiles did not meet expectations.
