It’s refreshing to have a rainy day in the middle of the summer here in San Diego and eating hot pot sounded like a perfect lunch idea. So, we decided to try Yintang Spicy Hotpot on Convoy Street. The waitstaff greeted us as we walked in and asked us to grab a seat/table for our group. We then were advised to get a big bowl and tong by the buffet like bar wall and then put in the bowl with all the customized hotpot ingredients (meat, noodles, veggies, seafood, fried dumplings,...
First time here, was pretty good. You get assigned a table; then you go up and grab your bowl to make your hotpot (at least a pound) . You can get a second bowl for skewers and hand it to the counter , I would recommend getting all your hotpot stuff first then going back for the skewers so its easier on your hands. Would go back again.
Everything was packed with flavor especially the skewers, which were coated in the most aromatic, mouthwatering sauce. You could really tell the ingredients were fresh and high quality.
The overall experience was super satisfying. Service was great and while the place could be just a bit cleaner, it didn’t take away from how good the food was.
We’re looking forward to trying the Irvine location next☺️
