Embarcadero Center Gem: Unwrapping the Delicious Secret of 5th Avenue Deli & Market

I was looking for something new to try when I got hungry, so I asked my colleague for a recommendation. She suggested 5th Avenue Deli & Market, a small, hidden gem tucked away in the Embarcadero Center near the corner of Clay and Drumm streets.

They offer a large selection of sandwiches, non-alcoholic drinks, and chips to accompany their creations. Since I'm not a picky eater, I asked the friendly cashier what their most popular sandwich was. Without hesitation, he declared, "SanFranPsycho!"

This sandwich features honey turkey, bacon, Gouda cheese, garlic butter, pesto, and Cajun mayo, all piled high on your choice of bread. I went with sourdough, gutted out and toasted with everything. While 5th Avenue has no indoor seating available, there are benches outside in the Embarcadero Center. I took it back to the office, and with the first bite, I was in love!

The sandwich was perfect - the bread was fresh and perfectly toasted, the flavors exploded in my mouth, and it was incredibly filling. I'm officially a fan! If you work nearby and have a sandwich craving, check out 5th Avenue Deli & Market. This is one sandwich experience you won't regret!

Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for Wheelchairs.

Sandwiches are SO good! I got the goodfella. Quick and tons of drinks and chip options to go. Super friendly staff. No place to sit and eat inside but tons outside in the plaza.

We’ve been here probably 10 to 20 times and every single time it’s the exact same experience (that’s a wonderful thing). In a city with very tough competition, these sandwiches are absolutely out of this world. Special shout out to the San Franpsycho on Dutch crunch. Whenever we have friends in town staying in FiDi, this is always the recommendation. It will never steer you wrong.

Just out boppin around with my pals Wally the Weasel and Trenchcoat Bob, and the Weasel pops off something about the Lucca Deli being the best in the City! Well, Trenchcoat pops him one right in the eye! And...Yells out the the 5th Avenue Deli is the best, you wanna make something of it?
They were just about to go at it so I yelled out..Let's go the the 5th Avenue Deli and see for ourselves, my treat.
I've been to about every Delicatessen in the city but this is the first time I've been to the 5th Avenue Deli and Market, and I don't know if it's the best in the city but it sure is in the top 5 that's for sure! ☆☆☆☆☆

Ugh this Dos Primos on sourdough was so friggin GOOD and YUM and perfect mouth chaos. It did what a SFian wants, and interrupts my normal work day brain for a crash of gratitude for the little things in life that go YUM!

There are plenty of good options for a sandwich in the area but I find myself coming back here at least once a week. Pretty much anything you try on their menu is tasty and thoughtfully prepared. The lines can be long at lunch but they move quickly. A great option to pick up a sandwich here on a nice day and eat it at one of the tables next door in Embarcadero plaza.
