My boyfriend and I came to the city to enjoy Christmas Eve and were super excited about attending A16 celebration of 7 fishes. We had planned for this to be special and worth the price. I ordered the wine pairing and was equally excited to see how your Chef and Somm put the pairings together as I am a Sommelier myself. Sadly this evening was full of disappointments. The food was all super bland, the calamari and pasta dish was rubbery and inedible and the salmon was beyond bad. My piece was dried out and way over cooked where the other piece was grey and a lot of it was from the lateral line. Seriously I have never seen a lateral line not cut off in a high end restaurant. The dessert was horrible. It was full of pectin and unimpressive. We didn’t eat it at all.
The wine was just as bad. The 3 oz pours were nothing more than 2 oz and when I asked for a glass of the white since there was not enough to try with the ramekins of salad I was told it was $49 a glass. ( for white Italian wine)that is completely unheard of. Our waitress never checked on us and I had to ask 2 other people to get her. The wine after the second course was brought after the course as finished and the next course brought out so I never really tasted what the pairing was supposed to be. Every time the food and wine was brought out it was never explained or talked about. How did you ever get a Michelin star with this quality of food and wait staff. I can’t believe that after the meal was over and I had nothing really to eat that the total was over $500 with tip. What a waste and disappointment. We can’t get the moments back or money but so bummed that I chose to spend my Holiday with A16.
Super disappointed,

I want to be clear this review is based on the Christmas Eve set menu and not based on their normal menu.
This was a 4-5 course meal and my favorites were the tuna crudo and the roasted salmon, the king salmon was cooked very well, seasoned beautifully, however, everything surrounding the salmon was below average, more specifically, under seasoned, you can tell the beans and the chickpeas were under seasoned in hopes the San marzano tomatoes would mask it. That was the theme of the evening is the majority of things that came out were under seasoned. We ordered a pizza for the kids, unfortunately the dough for that was underbaked. We also opted for the wine pairing, they forgot to bring one the reds to us.

We were really disappointed with the quality of food (both pizza and the steak was not good)
But the service and atmosphere there were really good. So, overall, we had a positive experience

The pizza and wine were amazing, but the service was not good. Took almost 20 minutes to get our wine and water. The Salumi (cheese plate) was very odd - it was like a pickled styled / latin flavored cheese plate and couldn’t finish it.

The hostess was a little short, and brash but Aiden and the rest of the staff were delightful and very attentive. The food exceeded expectations and wine selection was excellent. Food was out really fast but did not taste like it was rushed. Would absolutely recommend and go back again soon.
Excellent && authentic italian cuisine with special Italian wines — pastas are divine ! (Though it is hard to resist the pizza)
It's one of our favorite restaurants in the city. Delicious and as good as you can get outside of Italy. Pizzas are off the charts. Never disappoints and the staff are all So friendly and kind. Can't wait to go back next week!

A16 tries. Great location. At the end of the Chestnut commercial zone, parking is easier. Offering a choice of types of seating is nice. Good, quality food is a plus.
Food was average at best, but give the pricing it needs to be better. Service was extremely slow at a time when the restaurant was only half full. My family will definitely not be back.
Unfortunately we were seated next to a birthday group of around 8-10 women who were incredibly loud and we couldn't hear each other talk, so we had to yell to each other the entire dinner. Even the bartender woman couldn't hear what we were saying when she brought our drinks.
This is a fun restaurant on Chestnut Street. We got a cute table outside and had fun wine and dinner. We enjoyed the food and would come back!
