Don't sleep on the Filipino breakfast! Hotel guests get 10% off as part of the 'resort fee'.

Abaca is seriously one of the best restaurants in California! If you have not been, it is a must try! The kamayan experience is like no other. They are fantastic at honoring dietary requirements. They actually truly prepare delicious dishes for each person. They are very reasonable! Our favorite is their rice dishes.

Vegetarian options: Favorite has been a smoky vegan soup

Dietary restrictions: Any diet restrictions are honored. If they don't have it. They will personally make it for you.

Kid-friendliness: Very family friendly

Wheelchair accessibility: Will accommodate

25% Surcharge (20% automatic gratuity + 5% "Health & Wellness" charge) on EVERY bill - including Takeout! - is just obnoxious and unethical. They even charge this on Takeout where there is NO service (person at the counter is there to take your money and make sure you don't walk away without paying). If you're adding automatic gratuity, it should be for 6+ diners and then 15-18%. Adding 20% + 5% on top on every single bill regardless of the number of diners and where there is no service is just greedy. And of course, with the gratuity guaranteed, the service was lackluster.

Food was hit or miss. Some of of it was good but others were too salty or dry (e.g. bread). On their Fixed Price Menus, you're also not really getting any savings.

I took photos of the food but at this point I don't even want to help promote this place when their policy is so obnoxious. Short term gain at the expense of long-term business. With this policy, they're losing a lot of customers who will not be coming back.

We came in on a Friday night around 8:30 and they accommodated us without any reservations. We were quickly seated and were recommended some amazing drinks and dishes to order. Angelo was awesome! He provided great energy the entire night and was on top of it. The dishes were served in a timely manner and were fantastic. We had such yummy food and even got a small cassava cake for my sister’s birthday with a candle. The attention to detail was phenomenal. Would recommend to anyone! Love the hospitality!

This place is hands down one of the best restaurants in California. One of the only restaurants in the state consistently reinventing while staying true to the Filipino flavors and culture. The staff and chef are so friendly and make the experience amazing. Weeknights you can even meet some of the chefs and hear their inspiration for the dishes. When the place is popping, they still manage to give top tier service. Can’t wait to keep supporting! Worth every penny.

Great food and amazing staff! The sisig rice was just so flavorful. As soon as i took a spoonful, I just wanted to devour it. But I had to be demure, so i enioyed it accordingly, against my will. I wish I could have it every day. The lechon kawali was perfectly crispy.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. 💖

I hope to visit again soon. Or maybe they'll open a branch in Toronto, CA :)

We recently celebrated our Filipino friend’s birthday at Abaca and chose the Paubaya course under the recommendation of our wonderful server, Keoki! We were so pleased with not only the service and quickness of food delivery, but each dish was beautifully prepared with love and culture. Chef came to greet us personally and wish our friend happy birthday. I’m still reminiscing over how wonderful of an experience it was and I congratulate this restaurant for making all of our nights unforgettable. We wish to tell all of our friends and anyone who reads this of our highest recommend to this place. You won’t regret it! Thank you Keoki for being such a delight at our table! You have a bright future ahead of you and so does the Chef!

Food was fine and the service was great; however, I found their pricing to be downright abusive and unethical. Regardless of the party size, a 20% tip is automatically added plus a 5% bogus surcharge. That’s a 25% increase from the base price. The original pricing is completely descriptive, it’s truly disgusting and disappointing. Needless to say, I will not be back specifically for this reason.

You order at the counter and pay upfront, with a 20% tip automatically added, regardless of the quality of service. Unfortunately, in our case, the service was disappointing. The only service we received is someone bringing our food to our table. After that, I had to get up to follow up on the drink I ordered, and no one checked on us or our food throughout our visit. This was during breakfast, and it wasn’t busy when we arrived. On the bright side, food was good-I had the Filipino breakfast, and the chicken was tasty. However, the overall experience was underwhelming due to poor service.
