We tried the Maila Pizza and the Spaghetti Parmigiano Gricia, and everything was fantastic. The pasta was truly phenomenal rich, flavorful, and tasted authentically Italian. The pizza was equally delicious, with great ingredients and perfect balance. Our waiter was wonderful super helpful, friendly, and gave us excellent recommendations. The rest of the staff was also very attentive and provided great service. A wonderful meal all around! Highly recommend!

Service was okay, however the quality of the food was disappointing. Ordered the margarita pizza and it tasted as if they mashed a tomato and poured it on top of the dough. The pizza was dripping, soupy, and uneasy to eat. I was heavily disappointed with the quality in comparison to the price. The focaccia was covered in salt and the dough was hard. Overall a disappointing experience. Would not recommend unless you want to go home hungry and unsatisfied looking for another meal.

I HAD to review this place. To be honest, came here because there was a crazy long wait on the other spots in the area, but I am so glad I came!!

First of all, NO SEED OILS!! we had a pepperoni pizza, a cheese pizza, meatball appetizer, salad, and a perfectly cooked lamb chop, medium rare. Vegetable 🥕side dishes.

Start to finish, amazing. Service, drinks, food. Across the board. So yummy. We even ordered another pizza to take home! The sauce to cheese ratio was so perfect 🤤

I wasn’t prepared for this level of delicious so apologies for the lack of pics 😆

Two ten year olds, two adults very happy 🙏

From the kids: “ best food I have ever had, I will definitely come back!!”

Acquolina was a great start to our girls night out! Our server was on top of it and was easy to work with! The chicken parmigiana was so incredible, will be coming back just for that. Drinks were strong and at a reasonable price. Loved the ambiance and atmosphere!

Establishment was busy on this Friday night, which was great to see! We had reservations and were seated outside, which was appreciated! Again, they were busy and service was a bit sporadic at times. Food was good...just not great. Guess I expect a little more when dining out anymore!

we were treated very very nicely: my wife arrived just as the restaurant opened (we had 5 PM reservations) and was seated promptly (I was a few minutes late), table service was attentive and responsive, maybe we over ordered (Restaurant Week menu), that's on us; but we brought home leftovers. the wild-boar pasta was outstanding; so were the bruchettas. it was really loud by the time we left....but (we are San Franciscans) this is a great restaurant for visitors to the city: authentic feeling, comfortable food, fine wine list,...

This underrated gem should not be missed. Initially we were planning on going to Tony's, but as we approached it was obvious there was a long wait time. We stopped in front of Acquolina. We looked inside, there was plenty of seating inside and outside. The smell was fantastic.

Our server was from Naples and having just returned from vacationing in Italy, it was nice to have a relaxed dining experience. He didn't rush us. He kept saying stay, no rushing necessary. He gave a us a small dessert gratis to say thank you to us! Loved it and highly recommend.

Our server, Marvin, slapped a 20% gratuity onto the bill for a party of 4. Completely unacceptable. Restaurants in California have no right to force tips like this for such a small group. Tips are supposed to be voluntary, not a sneaky add-on shoved into the check.

I was ready to leave 20% anyway. but when a place forces it without asking, it feels dishonest and shady. Customers deserve the choice, not to be strong-armed into paying.

The waiter and staff were very nice and great hosts. I couldnt get half way through my water without being topped off. Pizza was fantastic. New favorite thin crust pizza. My wife and I (mostly me) ate the whole thing. Unfortunately they are not located in my home state of iowa.

Super expensive, food was mediocre. Service was terrible even though the restaurant was empty. Really weird Spotify playlist on the speakers. Go to tony’s across the street.

FOOD 3
Walked in one night and ordered 3 drinks, fried calamari, pizza with zucchini and mushrooms, Caesar salad and dessert. The overfried calamari and a few overfried prawns came out first before our drinks and is served with a garlic aioli and a tomato sauce. Good volume, but no taste without the aioli. Would have preferred a lemon wedge at least. - 3.

Caesar salad is romaine lettuce tossed with croutons, shredded Parmesan cheese and store-bought dressing - 2. Too disappointing.

Pizza crust was decent, sauce was sparse, bland toppings sort of distributed haphazardly, and pizza was cut unevenly, not uniformly into 4 large pieces and 2 smallish pieces, very unusual - 3.5. Should have ordered a pizza with sausage instead.

SERVICE 4
Service was snappy and efficient and the one bright spot. Dishes were removed when empty. Servers were pleasant and attentive.

ATMOSPHERE 3
80’s/90’s classic rock mixed in with Michael Jackson the night. Very strange aesthetic. A bit noisy.

OVERALL 3
$180 w/tip for three people for very ordinary food. I would not return because while the portions are generous, the food is plain. This place survives on the overflow of people that don’t want to wait to get into Original Joes or Tony’s.

Wife and I were going to a comedy show at Cobb’s and wanted to eat dinner close by. We’ve eaten at Tony’s and IMHO it’s overrated but this place was across the street and the menu looked good. My wife loved her pasta with asparagus and salmon and my pizza was amazing pepperoni and sausage. The crust outside was great interior crust a bit thin and soft for my taste but the sauce and cheese were perfect. Waiters were very attentive and beer and wine prices were reasonable. For me it was really a great experience and a surprise since it didn’t show up in pizza search. Highly recommend it. Seating outside on a hill was cool people watching.

We had tried to get to the pizza place across the street, but why? This place is amazing. Low wait time with great food and service. However, the bathroom door sticks so push hard. I would recommend this location to anyone who wants a great pizza to share.
