Outstanding Persian cuisine in the heart of San Francisco!

Alborz Restaurant exceeded all expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality that made us feel like honored guests. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between elegant and welcoming.

The food was absolutely incredible. Every dish was beautifully prepared with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors that transported us straight to Iran. The portions were generous, and the presentation was lovely.

Whether you’re familiar with Persian cuisine or trying it for the first time, the menu offers something wonderful for everyone.

The service was attentive without being intrusive, and our server was happy to offer recommendations and explain dishes we weren’t familiar with.

I don’t recommend at all !!!
I recently visited Alborz Restaurant in San Francisco for a Sunday lunch and I must say, it was a disappointing experience trouble service Although we were aware that it had a higher price point, we expected better service.

After placing our order, we waited for 30 minutes for our food. They brought out one dish but informed us that the second one was still on the way. We continued to wait, and despite asking multiple times, it took another 30 minutes for the second dish to arrive! This was absolutely unacceptable.

When we raised our concerns, the staff simply informed us that they were short-staffed. Are you kidding me? After speaking with the manager about the situation, she assured us that she would sort it out, yet all we received was a small ice cream as an apology.

This experience was incredibly disappointing and ruined our weekend lunch. I will never return to Alborz Restaurant and I cannot recommend it to anyone. Save your time and money!

Alborz has phenomenal Ghormeh Sabzi. No other place beats it imo!

I was reluctant at first because of low star reviews but thank God I came and tried the food! So far the best Persian restaurant in SF! I ordered Ghorme Sabzi and it came with a huge lamb shack and also the Koobideh and Joojeh was so large portion and amazing quality!

I've been living in USA more than 14 years, but even in Iran never had such a delicious Koobide and Barg. Also, the amount of food for such a price is amazing. In addition, their staff are very generous. The only problem is the location which is hard to find parking lot.

Authentic Persian cuisine in the SF Bay Area. We ordered koobideh and it’s the best we’ve had (we’ve had our fair share). Quality food and friendly staff.

i also tried “koo koo sabzi” and “ghormeh” and “joojeh kabab” but they could be better

Not sure why they have less than 4 stars. It’s a solid spot for Persian cuisine and reasonably prices for San Francisco. Ordered the beef koobideh and it came out in less than 10 minutes. Granted I was the only customer. They even bring out bread and butter but also onions and sabzi, most places cheap out on that. All in all a good experience and I’ll come back when I’m in town.

This restaurant fraudulently changed the tip on my receipt. They must have thought I wouldn't notice, but I took a picture of my receipt. When I called, they played dumb and refused to refund me.

The food quality is not in par with the prices. The Chicken kabob was blend. Mirza Ghasemi was tasty though. Based on my other comments, I think the place is doing a terrible job with Kabobs.

This place used to be better but I think it’s seen better days. The food is decent but not great and is pretty pricey for what it is. It’s just a little shabby these days. I think the Berkeley location is nicer.

Don’t go to this restaurant! DON’T GO! It’s not clean at all! The food is everywhere on the chairs, floor, tables!! Utensils are not clean! We were the only customers yesterday! The waitress served us and left to walk her dog and didn’t come back! I went to the kitchen to call the chef! He was alone too! Took me 10min to explain to him that we need to pay and no one is here to give us the bill! The waitress didn’t came back and we were observing her with her dog outside! The worst experience ever we had in any restaurant! They should simply close!!!
