This place is so under-rated!
staff were great
food was delicious
highly suggest “tah dig with gheyme” also “koobideh”
i also tried “koo koo sabzi” and “ghormeh” and “joojeh kabab” but they could be better

Not sure why they have less than 4 stars. It’s a solid spot for Persian cuisine and reasonably prices for San Francisco. Ordered the beef koobideh and it came out in less than 10 minutes. Granted I was the only customer. They even bring out bread and butter but also onions and sabzi, most places cheap out on that. All in all a good experience and I’ll come back when I’m in town.

This restaurant fraudulently changed the tip on my receipt. They must have thought I wouldn't notice, but I took a picture of my receipt. When I called, they played dumb and refused to refund me.
The food quality is not in par with the prices. The Chicken kabob was blend. Mirza Ghasemi was tasty though. Based on my other comments, I think the place is doing a terrible job with Kabobs.

This place used to be better but I think it’s seen better days. The food is decent but not great and is pretty pricey for what it is. It’s just a little shabby these days. I think the Berkeley location is nicer.
Don’t go to this restaurant! DON’T GO! It’s not clean at all! The food is everywhere on the chairs, floor, tables!! Utensils are not clean! We were the only customers yesterday! The waitress served us and left to walk her dog and didn’t come back! I went to the kitchen to call the chef! He was alone too! Took me 10min to explain to him that we need to pay and no one is here to give us the bill! The waitress didn’t came back and we were observing her with her dog outside! The worst experience ever we had in any restaurant! They should simply close!!!

Worst dinning experience ever. The food was pre-cooked and then heated up. when going to the washroom, which lacked warm water, I could not stay more than 30 seconds due to bad urine stingy smell. I do not advise anyone to go there.

Staff was pleasant but it was colder inside than outside. Salmon kebab was old and undercooked. Koobideh was on point. Overall, one and done for me.

Restaurantji Recommends
I recently visited Aalborz restaurant to try some Persian food, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. I ordered the Koobideh, and it turned out to be the worst I’ve ever had. The taste was completely off—nothing like kebab at all—and I couldn’t even finish my meal. My friends tried other dishes, but none of us were impressed. Additionally, the staff didn’t make us feel welcome, which only added to the poor experience. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

I'm giving it 1 star because I can't give it zero.
The kebabs were far from good—just pieces of something vaguely shaped like a kebab. It didn’t matter whether it was koobideh or barg.
The chicken kebab was mediocre—not terrible, but dry and chewy.
The stews and tahdig were terrible as well.
We spent around $400 for a group of 7, but the experience felt like it was worth only $30–40.

We had shishlik and koobideh with tahdig, and I have to say, the koobideh was completely flavorless—absolutely no taste or aroma. I’m genuinely questioning what kind of meat they used to make it. The shishlik was equally disappointing. The only somewhat enjoyable item was the side of mast o khiar. As for the atmosphere, the entire place had a musty, damp smell, and the bathroom wasn’t very clean either. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

The meat is great, I even got to give a small pinch of leftovers to a dog on the train :) The dish opened my eyes to dried limes. The service was respectful. My only gripe is that there was no Persian writing, only American.

Best Persian restaurant in sf.! I just wish the portion of kobideh be more thick also more mast o mosir it’s 10 dollars. Just raise the portion.
