Big portions and great service. I got the branzino silong and other people at the table got the tofu sisig and bistek. We shared everything plus got an order of the mini ube pancakes - lots of food for three people but glad we got everything as it was all tasty

The food always exceeds expectations; the Ube pancakes were incredibly delicious. They melted in my mouth with each bite, complemented perfectly by the crunchy coconut topping. The accompanying sauce was just right, and the drink was fantastic too. The waiter provided excellent service, ensuring that all my needs were taken care of.

My friend & I went here for Sunday brunch around 11:30am and we were able to get seated right away - it was crowded! We ordered the Ube pancakes & Niloco Mo Ako and both were very good! My friend also ordered the Vietnamese Ice Coffee with Ube Foam and she enjoyed the drink. The only downfall about this place is parking...it's street parking. Or, you can take BART to 16th or 24th mission street and walk over a couple of minutes. Overall, it was a decent brunch spot!

First time going here and it was great! Seated very quickly for brunch. Love their ube themed food! Delicious! Will definitely come back to try other things. The only bad part is parking!

Love coming here for brunch, but just be prepared for a wait (not sure if they take reservations). Highly recommend anything from their menu with Ube in it (horchata and hot cakes)!! Also really loved the short ribs and the poached chicken dishes. Super super busy especially on the weekends, but definitely one of my favorite brunch spots in SF

Not that good. The ube french toast just tasted like french toast, and the ube cream they give you with it tastes more like fondant than ube. Their fish dish was alright but more bland than anything. 3 stars just to be nice but probably 2 stars if i think about the price of the items.

Fire ube pancakes. Those were so fucking good. The loco Nico was aight. The ube latte has a weird texture and consistency.

I absolutely love this place! Such great brunch food, I especially love their ube pancakes (lives up to the hype!) and loco moco! The service is also fantastic with everyone always being so kind and helpful. As a Filipina, I am very proud to have such a wonderful restaurant in SF!

The customer service and food were spectacular! I went there twice now and am not disappointed. The Ube cakes are my favorite! I highly recommend it!

Cute Filipino brunch spot in Mission. Definitely recommend making a reservation beforehand because it gets super packed for brunch! It's a popular spot for its unique takes on classic Filipino flavors. They have a good mix of sweet and savory options on the menu. Definitely lots more I wish I could've tried. We ordered the crab eggplant omelette of the day, the ube hotcakes, + steak and eggs. The steak was super flavorful, pretty tender, and was probably my favorite thing we ordered! It's also a huge portion and comes with a mound of rice. The crab eggplant omelette was very unique and filled generously with crab, but it wasn't anything too special or memorable. I wish it had a bit more sauce or something texturally different because the dish itself was pretty monotone otherwise. It's also a large portion but was pretty pricey. I heard so much hype about the ube hotcakes so I was excited to try these! They come in a beautiful purple coconut sauce and taste very coconut forward. I didn't get a strong ube flavor sadly. It's definitely a gorgeously presented dish but the flavors didn't live up to the hype imo. Worth ordering once though if you're curious! It's also a massive portion -- the normal stack is 3 large pancakes. Good for sharing for the whole table. I did like that it wasn't too sweet though. Service was very fast and efficient. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which would be nice on a warm sunny day. Next time I'd want to try the black sesame chicken and waffles!

There were 6 of us and we made reservations. Good service. We shared the ube pancakes and each ordered something different, poached chicken gruel was very tasty, chicken( more like san tung in taste) and waffles, short ribs were good, grilled branzino, and chilaquiles, all were hits. Would return... street parking with meter.

Another great brunch spot in the mission. Featuring Filipino flavors and takes on brunch items there's something here for everyone. Went with a group of 4 (one of which was vegan) and we all enjoyed our dishes. Was a little underwhelmed by the ube orchata which is seen all over yelps photos. It lacked flavor and the consistency was interesting, like frothed milk. This spot gets very busy and I recommend joining the waitlist before arriving.

Yummy brunch spot on Valencia. I have a few favorite dishes here that I usually get and also tried a few new ones. I recommend making a reservation! I made a reservation a week ahead of the weekend, and had no issues grabbing a time that worked for me. + Grilled branzino bowl: this is my favorite savory item on the menu. Branzino is a beautiful, slightly oilier fish but they put a great mango salsa to pair with it that cuts through the richness. The rice underneath the fish is also amazing and I love it when it soaks up the sauce. Mango salsa does have red onion so I picked the pieces out because I didn't want red onion breath hehe. + Ube French Toast: This is more like two slices of bread that have a ube custard filling in between them. It's not exactly like a French toast soaked in custard. So overall, it was a bit on the drier end and we were curious if we should ask for syrup. But the ube filling was definitely sweet and decadent enough to balance out the two slices of toast. The fruit that accompanies this is always super sweet and I really want to know how they make the best strawberries and blueberries appear in this dish as a side. One plate is probably enough to share between 4 people if you just want to satisfy your sweet tooth without getting too full. - Chicken and waffles: The black sesame butter is amazing. The waffle itself was kind of dry, so I was a little disappointed. The fried chicken was pretty good. Very sharable dish, but hard for one person to eat entirely in my opinion. The space is a bit crowded, with 6 of us squeezing into the table together. I also felt like I had to flag down the servers a bit more to get their attention. We kept asking for water refills and extra plates. Even checking into the reservation was a little difficult because there doesn't seem to be a dedicated host that's always at the front. Worth it for the food, but lower your expectations for service and you'll have a good time!

We love coming to Al Nico! Nothing beats Lola's cooking but this place always gets it right. We ordered the Ube hotcakes (smaller version) and the poached chicken. Both were so yummy! The Ube pancakes are definitely a MUST! The portion sizes are perfect and will definitely fill you up. Their drinks are also yummy. We ordered the Ube horchata and Thai Ube coffee.

Fun and popular fusion brunch place, come with friends for the pretty dishes and not so much the actual flavor. The niloco mo ako short rib was a little bit tough, and the sauce was too salty. The ube hotcakes and the ube Vietnamese iced coffee were both tasty and good for photos.
