The Japanese Shokupan (Milk bread) is my favorite thing to order here. The curry pan is also delicious—so flavorful!! Andersen is a staple for me in Japantown.

I am consistently disappointed with what they have to offer here. Expectation vs reality is just sad. Not to mention the checkout experience is extremely confusing

Check out the small dot of filling in my vanilla bean melon pan

The best staff in the city. Love all the hard working ladies who work here. They are so kind.

I go here weekly to get all my daily bread for my sandwiches and all the pastries I crave for.

The pastries and cakes are prepared semi sweet which is good to satisfy my sweet tooth.

The manager, Marinella and the rest of the staff provide excellent services.

Excellent assortment of pastries and breads, PLUS good coffee. Pleasant service and fair prices for San Francisco where it is super hard to run a business due to high taxes and poorly run government. I'd post pics of the pastries, but we ate them too fast.

Parking: Park in garage under Japan Center, enter off Geary St.

we love bread and we were thrilled to come across this bakery. we tried a few different kinds of bread. their pans have a springy and soft texture but all of them taste very similar. the brioches are very flaky and flavorful. they are a must-try. their empanadas, however, taste unfortunately bland. oh, when ordering a large order, make sure to check the contents before leaving the counter or watch the order being fulfilled. they missed a couple of items we ordered but we didn't notice until we got home.

Got a melon pan, too dry to be the same day’s fresh; the mango croissant was very good, also the Saigon sandwich.

The service person that prepared my pastry was extremely rude, it seems like she had hard time to understand English and has zero “customer skills”, bagged 3 saperated pastry , throw it on the counter and just walked away, thanks to the other staff came to us and resolved to her communication issue. I would not come back for the service like this .

Got the strawberry shortcake as a birthday cake and it was yummy. Not too sweet and reasonably priced.

Don't go to this store, they won't sell fresh sandwiches, the woman was rude and said to go to another store, I want to file a complaint against this store

Only had the curry pan, and it was ok. They reheated it in the oven toaster, which was nice, but unfortunately over cooked it and came out partially burnt. Smoke from the oven toaster filled the bakery for a couple of minutes from the over toasting.
