Tried to book a private group event and I found they have very flakey staff. Promises on the website 24 hours to respond to event inquires. Took 3 days to respond. They email me and had availability. I called and was able to speak briefly to their events manager. He promised to hold a reservation and asked me to schedule a time to discuss the details. I emailed multiple time and called multiple times for the follow up convo to confirm the details of the event and they just ghosted me.

Their service in booking a group event was no were near what I would expect from a michelin star restaurant.

If you're considering Angler for a group events or private events I strongly recommend you steer clear. A lot of better options in the city.

My favorite was the ice cream. Everything else was decent! Would go back but nothing to write home about

Food was mediocre, drink that was ordered never came, sides came after the meal was finished, 20% automatic service charge for below average service. The manager was nice but communication with waiter and team was not efficient. Went to a burger place after, food was not filling and appetizers were extremely small portions. Food overall was a 3-4/10

We chose Cook for you, and we could enjoy variety of food. Their seafood and vegetables were so fresh. We were impressed their hospitality. We are sure to come again!

Excellent. Never would've tried this without the Chase credit but we will definitely be back

Waiters and Host were all actively engaged. Regularly walking through and refilling water. The Parker Rolls were fluffy. Not sure how I feel about the seaweed butter. Fried frog legs were delicious. Light batter and tender meat. Black cod I could do without. The light sauce was too light. Cod was on the fishier side of taste. Sea bream fish was quite nice with a fresh side of leaves. Sauce on top of the fish was helpful. Grilled mushroom over hot sauce was surprisingly tasty. Burnt or smoked mushroom top matched well with the sour hot sauce on the bottom. The sundae with hot caramel and salted cacao dibs was really nice. Not too sweet and a fun crunch with the salted cacao dibs.

Have been here 4 times - one of our favorite places in SF until last nite. Dinner for 2 - 'Cook for you' option. Food was not up to par (hasselback potatoes slicing, hen-in-woods mushroom sauce, no cappucino), they didn't have a wine pairing and the sommelier offered a weak sauv blanc), service was terrible (cocktails arrived after apps were half eaten, wine was served after dinner arrived, and it took a long time for the check. what happened to this place?

Fantastic service. Marshall was very helpful.

I just wish I could afford to eat here more often and will return as often as possible. The sundae alone is worth it then there is everything else! And a beautiful view too.

Amazing experience! The whole staff was friendly and helpful. I had came in directly after a long drive from LA and the staff took amazing care of us and immediately brought us out the appetizers. The GM angel was very sweet! My waiter was amazing and the Australian guy was awesome! Thanks for an amazing experience

The salad was a salt bomb and the waiter obviously smokes and smells like it.

Finally, after 3.5 years in SF finally made it here in my last week. You will not be disappointed. The potato, lobster and soft serve were next level.
