As a person that never tried Burmese food before, I was really impressed. We walked in with my boyfriend, ate there and left happier than before. I recommend the paratha which comes with a delicious homemade secret-recipe sauce.

Quick, tasty, and well priced!
We had a delicious Burmese lunch of spicy beef curry over the most delicious coconut rice. Three flavors were amazing and we cleaned every inch of our plates. The proprietors were very welcoming and friendly and happy to tell us about the food and more. Please give this gem some love.

Ar Har Ya Burmese Kitchen is a popular Burmese restaurant located in San Francisco’s Financial District at 357 Kearny Street. This casual spot, open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (closed on Sundays), is known for its authentic Burmese dishes and welcoming, no-frills atmosphere. The menu features traditional items such as tea leaf salad, chicken curry with coconut rice, and fish curry, along with lunch specials like the beef and chicken curry options. The restaurant is especially well-regarded for its generous portions and fresh ingredients, all offered at a fair price. Ar Har Ya offers both dine-in and take-out options, making it a convenient choice for lunch or early dinner. I like Their Fried noodle. Ar Har Ya noodle call ( Shwe Taung Kout Swal) is really good.

Beef curry is good
Chicken curry is not that good
Khao swer is not good
Very friendly staff. One of the better places I have eaten at in San Francisco. They warned me ahead of time that the spicy version of the pickled mango pork curry (which comes with rice) is very spicy and it did not disappoint! Love finding a place with actually spicy food with great flavour. Tried their mango pudding as well and it was simple but delicious. My only complaint is that they didn't have other desserts. Loved that most utensils/ containers were compostable and if not then recyclable

Really good curry and I love a solid curry????? Got the beef, will come back for the chicken and fish versions. Medium packs some heat but it's not overwhelming. Perfect combo of salt, spice and flavor.
