Vegans beware!

There is a vegan option, the Herb Salad, which is advertised as having seasonal vegetables. When I noticed my salad had no veggies, I went up to ask about it (thinking they just forgot to add it to the salad). The worker said, somewhat brusquely, “we haven’t had seasonal veggies for a month” as if I should have known that. I said “your menu still says seasonal veggies - you should remove that or drop the price.” He said “it’s the same price with or without the veggies.”

The only reason I even chose As Quoted was because they had a hearty salad with vegetables. They have a Chinese Chicken Salad for the same price ($18). I can’t imagine they would just stop adding chicken to that salad and not change the menu description or the price.

The whole experience felt very disrespectful to vegetarians/vegans.

Vegetarian options: One vegan option but not as described

Great little place. Very nice atmosphere and local coffee shop to have a quick meeting or meet a friend there are lots of moms with strollers and local families there .. the drinks are good and the food as well.

My friend, who is severely celiac, got very sick here. They say all the food is gluten free, but that’s obviously not true. We looked up everything about this restaurant after she got sick and saw the review of some other person on this site who also got sick. They sell a lot of oats, so that’s probably why she got sick. Cross contamination. Watch out!!! For the not celiac’s, the food is good it just isn’t totally gluten free.

Feels like it's now a gluten-free gimick. Over the last couple of years, things have overall gone downhill. Service is redundant as this isn't a full service restaurant, which now makes it hard to pay their expected prices for how the food quality is currently.

Waffles will either be soggy or overcooked as they sit in a warmer. Avocado Toast isn't toasted, and the added bacon is cold and par cooked. Tacos are overpriced for only 2 of them and fall apart as there is only one tortilla per taco. Basically, if you're not there shortly after opening, you're eating items cooked at opening and assembled later. Coffee is usually reliable, but today we couldn't even drink it, and it didn't arrive until we decided to give up on our partially eaten breakfast.

They keep the place clean given the high volume of traffic they get, and seating can be tight, but turn around time is quick.

One of my favorite places for coffee and brunch. My only complaint is that it isn’t open on Sunday. Please change this!

Food and ambience is amazing, staff could be friendlier. Their approach makes customers feel like an inconvenience rather than welcomed. I wouldn’t go back based on the experience, but I think the food is very good.

I start at 5 stars and go down if needed.

One bathroom made wait a bit long.
Got a scramble and the large broth. One for us to share one to take with.

I would probably settle for kettle and fire heated up for the price but it's nice to have and support a small business on a cold day.

I have mixed feeling about a place like this where it's like you order like it's in and out but you tip like it's a restaurant?

But it's clean. It's quaint and I'm sure they're doing their best.

4 stars across the board

I felt like each had room for improvement.
Perhaps id hit it with 5 stars if there wasn't a prompt for 18 20 and 22% tip (it could've been 10/15/20 but to me felt like over the counter service)

Ordered an iced matcha latte. I don’t think the staff person was really listening because when I collected my drink, it just had latte on the receipt.

I was in a hurry so I didn’t have time to correct the order but when I saw it wasn’t green, I already was like that’s $8 down the drain.

Overpriced for food and coffee that truly is not worth what you spend. There are better places to go at better price points with better service

Wanted to like this place, was excited to check it out.

Bought a chia pudding, a cookie, and an oat latte, came in at just over $18 with tip, on par for SF.

Blueberry’s in the chia had gone bad, cookie was stale.

Oat latte was made so hot it burnt my mouth, zero latte art, milk just dumped into coffee and handed over. This coffee shop has such an amazing in-counter espresso machine ($$$), but they skimped on the barista (lady with the straight cut bangs - sorry).

Amazing aesthetic and nice place to hang out and do work, but I ended up dumping everything I had bought and going to another coffee shop.

I’ll probably leave this review up for a few weeks until I feel bad and take it down, but there ya go.

Very mediocre experience. Can’t believe they don’t specify which things are vegan for being an allergen friendly spot. And even after extensively explaining dietary restrictions when ordering, they gave us a bagel with real cream cheese. The breakfast tacos were on cold tortillas that fell apart.

Probably a fine spot if you’re just coming for coffee and a pastry.

This was hands down the best Cobb Salad I've ever had in my life. The quality of ingredients is top notch and justifies the price. I only wish they were open later than 2PM so that I could get dinner.
