An absolutely incredible meal! Each dish was unique and so flavorful. There wasn’t a single course that I disliked or thought wasn’t up to par for the price and expectations of the meal. The cheese course was my absolutely favorite. I particularly loved that the service was much less stuffy than other high end restaurants.

We purchased the cellar experience with some friends and while we enjoyed the food itself, the service was subpar based on what was listed as well as the premium we paid. When purchased it was indicated that the chef would personally walk through the beverage list with us prior to our arrival, but we were never contacted by anyone prior to our arrival. The description of what we purchased was also confusing in that it is not very clearly stated that beverages were not included in the price; so we were a little surprised to discover that purchasing the cellar experience required a $250 per person minimum charge for alcohol. At the start of our dining experience we felt rushed by the staff to select a sake or champagne pairing especially given we though we would walk through a bottle pairing. We ended up not choosing either of these pairings and instead selected 4 bottles of wine throughout the course of our meal. We noticed and it was quite obvious that the staff was having trouble locating bottles in the cellar and there were several times that a member of the staff would go in, search for a bit, then come out to ask another staff member to help him find the bottle. This eroded the cellar experience by created a chaotic environment right before our eyes. We had hoped for a quieter evening. When all was said and done this was way too much alcohol for our group. We enjoyed three bottles and thankfully were able to take the fourth home with us.Additionally, prior to our arrival we indicated via a Q&A provided to us that we were celebrating the anniversaries of two couples however none of the staff acknowledged the anniversaries. While I would prefer not to write a negative review, we did give the restaurant a chance to acknowledge our concerns by emailing them about our experience, however they never replied back to us.The only saving grace of the evening was the food which was delicious, but given the level of service for what ended up being a very expensive dinner, I don’t see myself coming back or recommending Avery to friends.Hopefully they will take these comments to heart, make a few adjustments, and gain many loyal customers of which I will not be one.
Just meh very meh. Had high hopes based on the price and the fact that it’s a Michelin star restaurant, but the actual products were a real surprise to us.
What a dream!!You feast with all your senses here ~ the presentation is generous and whimsical; every bite is luxurious. We started off with a non-alcoholic cocktail, which tasted like the brine of white kimchi (baek-kimchi) that's traditionally had in the summertime in Korean households. It was effervescent and had a kick of spice. I savored every bit - the cocktail felt like sipping a memory from childhood. And the meal only advanced. You taste a pairing of flavors here that you would never think to put together. The mini caviar pancakes for example - I had to take a second look at my partner just to affirm, "Are you experiencing what I am?"If you have the opportunity to come here, do. It's a place full of care and hospitality and a place full of memories!!
Average food, not worth the price. A bit too salty. They put mint on everything and I don't know why.Crowded environment with small space but I'm cool with it. Staffs there are nice though.
Avery solidly earns its Michelin Star. We enjoyed 7 courses of their winter menu which featured a variety of innovative twists on fusion cuisine. Standout positives were the iconic tortellini soup, bison/dolma course, and a grilled napa cabbage coconut soup.On the drinks side we enjoyed a very creative palette cleanser drink (their pineapple sour) and a complimentary glass of champagne due to long wait time. I also ordered a single glass of red which was an interesting Cabernet that paired nicely with the middle courses. There are a few things preventing Avery from reaching 2 stars. As mentioned above we waited for 25 minutes in the drafty lobby due to backups (they only have 6 tables and a party before us was 45 minutes late, we were told). Maybe as a result of this there seemed to be a bit of confusion among the service crew throughout the meal (though they made up for it with cheerful personalities and free champagne).Additionally I would not recommend purchasing the add on Wagyu beef. It was appropriately marbled but the hot broth cooking method doesn't provide as much carmelization as you can get elsewhere around the city with a standard grilled/seared wagyu. I also wish they had a mixed drinks menu, though it seems they chose to focus instead on sake (and a tempting sounding champagne pairing). Finally, I am unsure how I feel about the cheese course. Probably that means it is a successful Michelin course since it challenges my preconceptions! If I had to tweak it I would have not served it with shaved truffle on top (indeed there were mushrooms in every course... including the dessert!)
Cozy, classy ambience. Excellent tasting menu (vegetable forward as well)! Wines are pricier than expected given the food pricing. Service is efficient though we had an unfortunate incident where a server spilled drinks on one of us
I came here for a celebration dinner last night and it was perfect. Each dish was unique and amazing and the staff went out of their way to make us feel special. A night to remember for sure!
The decor and music were fantastic. We had the 9 course tasting menu which has a rotating selection of dishes. Some highlights were the Shiso Leaf Tostada, the tortellini and the two fantastic dessert courses
Each course was delicious and thoughtfully and creatively prepared. The curry that came with the tuna and avocado was outstanding, as was the broth that came with the wontons. The trout with the caviar and the fried shiso leaf was amazing. The bison was also way more juicy and tender than it appeared. The ambiance is also most excellent. The restaurant has many beautiful and unique touches throughout.Unfortunately, the cheese course (a sweet pastry with savory melted cheese on top) came without utensils. When I asked the server politely for chopsticks, he smirked and most rudely and mockingly told me that it was to be eaten with your bare hands, causing my hands to get oily and full of crumbs which I could only wash by pouring a few drops from my glass of drinking water. Even now, after getting home and washing my hands with soap, I cannot get rid of a faint smell of food. I would not normally mind picking up food with my hands (which I did for the caviar leaf) but this is a greasy pastry that literally has melted cheese dripping off its edge.Overall, although the attitude of the staff was not as good as expected, it was still a very positive experience.

Each course was delicious and precisely arranged, the service very friendly.?????
Fabulous dining experience! Delicious, fun, creative food... With artistic / beautiful presentation. Chef/owner was very attentive. Sous chefs and waiter were also great. They accommodated my allergies and created scrumptious alternatives for me. My wife and I really loved it. We highly recommend it!
Awesome fine dining experience. Comfortable and different from other fine dining restaurants. Conversations with the chef was great. Food was very creative, visually beautiful and delicious. My wife and I will be back.
First top notch food in 2021.I need to say the experience is very acceptable.Yet, some average dishes I would to raise, every one of them simply closely-held conviction:No so great:Ravioli: this ravioli is soup filling, however it is somewhat pungent, and ravioli and soup doesn't liquefy together without any problem.Chocolate cake: excessively sweat, taste like something from Safeway.Best:Avocado with crude hamburger: best of the day, meat dissolve with avocado and curry soup base.Roe on the leaves: so new and delectable. Wonderful dishes also.
Wonderful dining experience!
