I love this tiny delicious place. I found it when I attended the San Francisco Paramedic Association that used to be on Mission. The gyros and fries are amazing. I dont get to the city often as of late but Im so glad Ayola survived through the pandemic. So good!

It's very overpriced and the food was not impressive at all. Kind of feel disappointed this is a fine dining restaurant. The ambiance is ok but it's nowhere close to Lazy Bear if we are considering them as the same style of dining.

I had the large gyro. It was delicious, especially with the garlic sauce. The service was very friendly and welcoming. There are a couple of tables if you want to eat in.

Food comes out quick, maybe less than 5 minutes. There's not much seating inside, but you can bring it over to any of the nearby parks like Salesforce or Yerba Buena.I ordered the falafel rice bowl which was around 15$. The rice and falafels were dry, and the salad was really watery. The tzatziki really only tasted like yogurt which, I get that its the main ingredient, but nothing else really came through. Overall was bland until you added the spicy sauce - it was honestly a godsend that made the food palpable. Good portion though.

Excellent Greek food, served very quickly. The euro is sliced off the shank it is always tender and juicy.

TOO MANY places in this city advertise as if they’re Greek but they’re really Middle Eastern and the taste is different. I got the 9inch Gyro and it’s just ok. Go to an authentic Greek place for that type of food. If you get it to go make sure you check to see if you have napkins or get some yourself at the counter. The 3rd star is for the service.

have tried the chicken shawarma (wrap), chicken gyro (rice bowl), falafels, and fries. I enjoyed the shawarma but found the gyro questionably starch-y (not meat texture) and relatively disappointing. the fries here are delicious (well seasoned, crispy yet tender), also a big fan of the hot sauce (not sure what all is in it, tomato base? but its super flavorful beyond a simple spicy kick). fast service even during peak lunch time.

I used to get lunch here a lot when I was working in the city. Tasty food and the staff are friendly and do a great job getting orders out during the lunchtime crowd. Check it out if you’re downtown.

I was introduced to Ayola by a friend from work and this has become one of my favorite spots for lunch. The lamb/beef gyro is really really good! I also highly recommend the fries. They are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. If you like spicy, you also need to get some of their hot sauce. The folks behind the counter are friendly and fast. You don't have to wait long for your order to be ready. If you are in the area I would definitely recommend you check it out.

Just tried this place out for delivery. It is what I was looking for exactly. No idea, somehow that day I was just thinking about gyros. Decided to look around on Google (and even Reddit), and decided that it seemed Ayola would be the place to satisfy my gyros craving.Tried their chicken gyros, chicken shawarma, and lamb & beef gyros.Surprisingly, the chicken gyros was the most tastiest / flavourful one. I was expecting the lamb & beef gyros would be the one. It's a nice surprise.Definitely will come back again for the chicken gyros if I somehow crave some gyros!
