We had a great anniversary dinner! Sad to hear that it is closing and I'm happy we were able to visit one more time. The gambas were delicious and our favorite. My ramblas cocktail was perfectly mixed. Thank you B44

Given it will be permanently closing in a few weeks., B44 hardly disappointed the many times I've gone. For authentic and delicious Spanish tapas without the cost of a plane ticket, dine there ASAP as often as you desire before it shuts its doors forever.

Just a follow up to reinforce my previous review. My family enjoyed our first trip so much we went back a week later. Another excellent meal with excellent service. B44/Cafe Bastille is very accommodating of our food allergies which is another big positive for us. We look forward to returning.

We love B44, great paella, wonderful outdoor seating in a vibrant little alley surrounded by skyscrapers. There are a few choices in the alley, but the combo of B44 and Cafe Bastille is our favorite. Our wait person was pleasant and efficient, and the choice of wines was more than adequate! I highly recommend visiting.

We had a great experience. My wife frequented Cafe Bastille for many years when she worked nearby. She was glad that it still existed together with B44. For our family it's special to have two cuisines together and we hope to return many times.

Lots of gluten free options and a delicious house made sangria! The brussel sprouts and the lamb skewers are divine!!! Love the atmosphere too!

Dietary restrictions: The staff was knowledgeable about celiac disease

Our first time at B44. Honestly, it didn't start out too well. The server who helped us when we arrived, seated us near the sidewalk entry to the street; it was windy and cold, so the table didn't work for us. We asked the same server if we could sit in the other outdoor section, which was completely unoccupied; he said no, it was reserved for other guests. He left. We asked another server about sitting at a 4 top, in a more acceptable spot not in the wind, which he was happy to accommodate. Had this not occurred, we would have left. Eating out is simply too expensive to be unhappy about it. As we sat at our new table enjoying our cocktail (being helped by waiter 2) waiter 1 allowed other walk-ins to sit in the area he said was not an option to us. In the end, the ambiance was charming and the food was good. The lamb skewers, salad and potatoes were all wonderful. The only food disappointment was the ceviche. Our server even comped us a drink when told him about the ceviche. We'd give B44 another chance, as there was more good than bad, but if on visit 2 we are offered a bad table, we'll leave.

It was nice that the restaurant was not too busy anymore when we got there. Therefore we got great service. There were only two staff serving & bussing. Good portions and good food.

A bit hard to find the place, but nice little hidden spot in the city. The cake was amazing!

We make it a point to have dinner here everytime we come to San Francisco. The food and wine list is authentic and offers something for everyone. More importantly, the service is exceptional! We love coming here and will continue to everytime we visit the city.

The restaurant was "fine" but not worth the price and nothing was particularly good. They were generous with the bread, but it was mediocre, supermarket style baguette. I ordered the French onion soup which was soggy, a little greasy and with an odd tasting broth. Not terrible, not even bad - but not good. I also ordered the cassoulet whichw as oddly bland. Not terrible, but not good. In a town of good restaurants, there are better options and better values. The kitchen needs to up its game and pay more attention to the quality of the food they send out.

Great food and ambiance. I would definitely return! Not really the fault of the restaurant but was very busy during our reservation time (around noon) and very loud. It was difficult to hear members or our group and have any sort of conversation. Eventually - as diners left, the noise level was reduced. If you have the option of sitting outside, I recommend doing so as the noise level was significantly less on the small patio.
