Cozy, petite Thai eatery on Lombard, designed to evoke a manicured side street in Bangkok.Tom Kha Soup, a coconut milk broth wonderfully fragrant from lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf, galangal and chili — perfect with a side of rice noodles dipped in.While tasty, the price point seems to reflect more the neighborhood than the kitchen’s unique ability. Nothing far from the classic standard.

Delicious, unusual Thai food. We really enjoyed the Thai sausages (lemon grass & spices), the pad ma keur, and the fried rice. The service was delightful. We’ll be back!

I really enjoyed the food in Baan Yaai and would recommend it to others. The papaya/shrimp salad was refreshing and tasty with a hint of spice, although I didn’t think that the shrimp was actually grilled (really liked it regardless!) I also loved the Pad See Ew with tofu. Both portions were big and the service was lovely. The only reason I didn’t order a dessert was because I was too full!P.s. the pictures don’t do it justice!

Made a big mistake by going here. Ordered a thai curry which did not taste like thai curry AT ALL. Was very disappointed with my overall experience here.Editing to respond to the owner - thats not accurate at all. We were told its only for take away the minute we walked in at 8.15 pm. Thats 35 min before you close. Also, take away food doesn’t mean that it should be inedible. We waited 15-20 min for the food to get ready and the taste and quality were extremely disappointing. In case upu cant meet quality standards, it would be better to refuse an order.

We reached 45-50 min before closing time, yet they didn’t let us sit down to eat - only take away. The food was extremely subpar. The Pad Thai was sweet and with no veggies! The Thai Curry didn’t taste Thai at all. The only edible items were the chicken wings and gyozas, both of which were frozen items they reheated in front of us.
