Great place for drinks but not food. I got the shakshuka and the tomato sauce looked like ketchup. No onion, eggplant, red pepper just a lot of tomatoe sauce that looked and tasted like ketchup, 2 eggs and bread. The eggs tasted like they had been cooked, frozen, de thawed and microwaved. Probably shouldve stuck to something simpler like the omelette which looked fine.

I would think of myself as an espresso martini aficionado. I just moved to San Francisco and I was recommended Balboa Café multiple times. I have never been more disappointed in my life. I unfortunately was not even able to finish my espresso martini. I was underwhelmed and disappointed. On top of that, the staff was rude and short with us. I will not be going back

I came here from on a visit from out of town and it was the worst place I visited on my trip. The service was non personal and rushed. The espresso martini that my girlfriend and I ordered was mediocre. Overall I did not feel welcome here. I will not be coming back and will never recommend this place.

This place was awful. I came here to get drinks on a Saturday afternoon, but the wait for the patio was 1 1/2 hrs. We agreed to be seated inside if we ordered food. It took 25 minutes for someone to come take our order, and when he did he said it wasn’t even his table, but he put in the order of 4 drinks that took another 15 minutes. (You would think they would speed up the order if they forgot our table). After that out actual server finally came by and got our waters and food order in - we didn’t get the waters 45 minutes since we sat down. The patio was full, but the indoor restaurant seating was completely empty except for us. Eventually another table sat down next to us and got their food and drinks before we did. I usually come here for late night drinks, but never again it was such a horrible experience. Terrible service and the espresso martinis were so bitter.

This place was awesome. Great service (I had the gift of great company as well). I did The Omelette of the day which was delightful and probably one of the most perfect omelets I've ever had and the tuna tartare which was wonderful. Overall a fantastic experience. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the Marina. My friend had the burger in brioche with extra crispy fries and the cauliflower bechamel. All delightful.

Food was okay, cocktails are better, service is good, environment is great at night if you are okay with loud places, but I suggest you avoid coming here for a romantic dinner or a date when the place is packed. There’s parking nearby. Not sure I’ll come back.
The waitress was not helpful at all after we moved table and she had taken her tip . Apart from that nice staff including the manager who gave us complimentary drinks to make up

The food was delicious, and one could tell the ingredients were of high quality. On the other hand, the quality of the coffee was lacking and was reminiscent of roadside diner coffee. Was surprised by that inconsistency.
