Great happy hour food specials coupled with a tasty beer. Monday was 2-topping personal pizza and a pint of your choice for $12 which is insane.
I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent dining experience at your establishment on 8/30/2025. I had been looking forward to trying your renowned burgers, based on the positive reviews I had heard. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short of expectations.
The $19 price tag for the burger was simply not justified by the quality of the food. The patty itself was excessively dry and lacked flavor, a stark contrast to the juicy burgers I've enjoyed elsewhere – In-N-Out Burger comes immediately to mind. Furthermore, the burger's construction was suboptimal. The lettuce was placed at the bottom of the bun, leading to a soggy bun and an overall unpleasant eating experience. The excessive height of the burger also made it difficult to eat, requiring me to cut it in order to take a bite. (See attached photos for further illustration of these issues.)
While I acknowledge that your establishment may excel in its beverage offerings, the quality of the food, in my opinion, needs significant improvement. My family and I were collectively very dissatisfied and rated our meal one star. We sincerely hope you will take our feedback constructively and address these issues to provide a more enjoyable experience for future diners.
Great beer hall experience. Tons of variety and also non alcoholic options. Food is pretty darn good. Love going with friends for trivia on Wednesdays
Fun atmosphere, good service. “Sincere Cider” was perfect, crisp and sweet. The Porter was chocolatey but not too cute. Good chicken sandwich.
Chill after work vibe.
Foods were pretty decent here.
If you haven’t tried Ballast Point, try their IPAs.
Ballast Point is a smooth operation with smooth brews and some tasty bar grub. My party and myself were greeted and helped to a table practically instantly on a busy Friday evening. We ordered incredibly easy from The Toast menu and the food and drinks came magically and speedily to the table. Subsequent rounds went the same way. We lost some of the interaction with our servers but man this was an efficient experience. The pineapple sculpin was lovely and the imperial ipa I had was a real favorite being less hoppy than many modern ipas. I will definitely be back for more Ballast Point.
There is a lot to like about brunch, however, there are a couple of food pointers. For one, let the bacon crisp up...it would be so much better. Second and most importantly, cut the prime rib thinner. We go a thick piece but it is extremely cooked and dry on the outside, but very rare in the middle such that you could not really cut the meat. Cutting thinner slices is truly needed. I really enjoyed the bottomless mimosas, and the team of folks who were so nice and came around often to clear plates, you were all fantastic.
Food quality for Father's Day Brunch was not at all what we had hoped for. Fried chicken and bacon were all soggy, no fresh crisp to anything, waffle was unbelievably sweet (without adding any topping), prime rib was either very well done/dry or too rare (depending on cut) along with no steak knife provided so you needed to just make due and cut/rip apart. Best items were the two juice offerings, blood orange and orange juice. We should've thought twice about the brunch after we saw only 2 other families had shown up for the brunch which began at 11am but that probably wouldn't have mattered since you're required to pay in advance and no cancellations allowed after payment received. Come here for beer and snacks but avoid for Sunday Brunch events.
The food menu (Father's Day) look very good online although the execution was subpar. It appeared that the food was pre-made well BEFORE. Many of the dishes were very bland in tasted. The prime rib was VERY TOUGH.
Ballast Point Brewing San Francisco offers beer and food. Both were of high quality, and the service was satisfactory.
Restaurantji Recommends
beer is good, food is solid
Great service, great food and great beer, had the smash burger which was delicious and tried the habanero IPA, definitely worth trying!!
I'm a big fan of their beers but, honestly, I tend to lower my expectations with brewery food but this place really did deliver a very high quality and efficient menu of delicious dishes! The chicken wings were fried hot and crispy. The fish and chips were also the same but light and not oily. The slaw and wedge fries were also lightly seasoned and tasty still. Fried chicken thigh sandwich was over sauced but cooked perfectly moist. Caesar salad was nicely tossed with lots of croutons but no sardines. Service was excellent. Ordering through the QR code was simple and efficient. Restrooms were clean. Seat yourself with plenty of tables and bar seats. TV everywhere. Not a bad seat in the house. 2.5 hour validated parking at Owens St garage.
Delicious food, great beer and fun game nights!
Awesome brewery!!
