So many amazing sounding pastas I couldn’t decide. Had to settle with 2 and I’ll definitely be back to get some more of them.Everything just tasted so good and unique. Sit at the chefs counter to see how it’s all done :)

Among many excellent Italian spots in the city, this stood out. The homemade pasta has the perfect texture, and the fillings and sauces are delicate and wonderful. Service was kind and attentive, and the space - a favorite when it was Locanda and Ancora - remains intimate and elegant. Looking forward to another opportunity to dine.

What a fabulous new addition to Valencia Street. We sat at the bar and the service was warm and friendly; the bar tender made recommendations when requested but left us to enjoy our conversation and let us set the pace. We started with the nduja and prosciutto appetizers- both fantastic: the prosciutto had the perfect salty/sweet combination with dried dates and crunchy chewy gnocco fritto. We followed that with the agnolotti al plin (little handmade pillows of pasta stuffed with mushroom and truffle in a concentrated veal reduction with sweet caramelized onion and chives). Amazing! If you were fans of Locanda (previously in this location) or Bar Tartine, you should definitely check out this spot. I love places that have top notch food but aren’t bogged down by fussy or complicated service elements. Very excited to have Barberio in the neighborhood.

The worst food I have ever had. Horrible service and dirty. Don't recommend at all. The food options here are not vegan friendly at all either.

taken away by the energy in this restaurant. Super chic & inviting. Service was humorous, quick, anticipatory of our needs. Food was delicious. No complaints, really. Perfect for a girls night or a date night

Excellent experience. Classy ambiance, great service, and delicious, well presented food. Ascolani - fried olives stuffed with braised oxtail - were out of this world. Tonno e fagioli, bean and tuna salad, was good with the tuna flavor a bit mild. My BF had saffron semola pasta with pork fennel sausage which he enjoyed and I loved the stracci di castana, chestnut pasta with pork rib ragu. Flavors to dream about! Highly recommended, we will definitely be back.

The food is on the salty side... but this place serves Italian dishes that you don't find anywhere else and their menu changes time to time. There're some good fresh pasta and the fish dish is awesome.

The wife and I have dined at Barberio several times. We have had pastas salads, and fish. All the entree's have been good. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere overall. This last time, it was so loud, we could not hear much of anything our waitress had to say or from each other. There went the romantic dinner out, but at least we could make faces at each other. The noise level was notched up, with some woman right behind us screaming at the top of her lungs in the most grating voice. She seemed highly impressed by the sound of her own loud voice and mindless prattling. No one else near our table appreciated it either. Whats wrong with people. It's dinner out, not a sporting event. The other downer was all the all the male hispanic wait staff doused in cologne overpowering the food and drink.

There are a lot of Italian restaurants in SF, but this one really stands out. Definitely one of the best we have dined at for a long time. The appetizers and main courses were original and seasoned perfectly. Pastas were fresh and outstanding. And the service was very personal and attentive. This place is doing everything right. Can’t wait to go back here again!

The agnolotti was great - the pasta was fresh and the truffle filling was phenomenal. The petrale sole was amazing too and especially loved the sides it came with.

The staff were amazing and made our dinner very enjoyable. Everyone we interacted with was super friendly and attentive. The restaurant is nicely decorated but it was super hot inside (felt like 80F) and noisy. Great with friends but not for a romantic date. The food was OK but they ran out of the porterhouse steak at 7.30p, which we specifically came to try :( p.s. Parking was a nightmare due to the changes on Valencia St. Took us more than 20min to find a spot more than 900ft away from the restaurant... not a great way to kick off your evening

An excellent newer restaurant. Loved the Triangoli so much!Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating for kids they pulled us out a high chair and gave us an extra napkin for him to play with.

Absolutely delicious pasta in the cutest spot on Valencia. The wait staff were incredibly kind and helpful with our 11 month old who we set up in a nice high chair by the corner booth so we could easily reach him. The Triangoli was right up there with my favorite balsamic pasta dish from Flour and Water.
