I have lived in SF since 1974. I remember going to the current site of the Beach Chalet when it was a bar with some pool tables. It’s current iteration is a favorite place for my wife and I to go, especially since the Cliff House closed. We go for lunch at least once if not twice a month. The foods is good and the wait staff is fantastic. We've also celebrated many special occasions at the Beach Chalet.

I had an amazing experience at this place! It's steeped in history and has a unique charm. Perched on the second floor, the restaurant offers a fantastic view. The service was excellent, and my boyfriend and I were lucky to snag a table by the window. However, a word of advice: avoid sitting by the window on sunny days as it can get quite warm.As for the food, we ordered calamari, fish and chips, and a sandwich. Everything was incredibly delicious, especially the calamari—it was cooked to perfection! I particularly appreciated that they served all sauces individually, and they even provided fresh refills with each dish. Overall, a delightful dining experience that I would highly recommend!

My favorite way to treat myself when I make the drive. Delicious food. And vast views of the ocean and shoreline. Very professional waitstaff. Hosts tend to be puzzlingly stingy about seating if you're single. Even when there are plenty of window tables open. I'm crazy for their Brussels sprouts. I often order a few meals to take some for the next day. Good coffee and crème brule'.

Busy, wonderful lunch, had Flat Iron steak-perfect! Enjoyed refreshing lemonade with tea AND pineapple juice. My friend loved the fish & chips. Suggest they get an espresso machine. Coffee served in tiny cups, at least quickly refill. Busy, but great waiter. Other staff very helpful. Friends said they enjoy weekdays there. We ate a leisurely lunch on a Sunday.Walkability: Walk to beach.Noteworthy details: Excellent model & history in hotel lobby. We ate in the glass atrium in back of building. Busy & beautiful room. We didn't eat @ upstairs restaurant, nor stay in hotel.

Great lunch although it was expensive. Prosecco was cold, oysters were fresh, fish was fresh and expertly cooked, and service was impecable. Add to that great view and company and that makes it a perfect day.
