Went to dinner and reserved a table for 5. The staff was not very good. They were busy talking to themselves than the paying customers. We were from out of town and excited to be on vacation. The first waiter ghosted us after bringing us water and beer. Another waiter came by and took our order and other waiter was still walking around. Second waiter much better but after ordering appetizers he took a while for us to order regular food so I walked up to him to come to our table. At the end we wanted dessert but could not find him until much later so I just asked for my check. Still have them the full tip but not deserving. The 3 appetizers went from good to bad. First the good the calamari. The garlic fries were not tasty. The sourdough was bad. The meals were average but the clam chowder was very good. The restaurant is in a very good location. You are seated where you can look out at the water. The sun was setting and blinding us even though they had shades. Out of all the meals and service around town we had this was the worst place. It was more borderline to 2 stars. As we left 2 hostess speaking Spanish to each other saw us walk by and didn't even thank us. Our waiter wasn't around it was a lonely feeling leaving. There was empty tables and see why.

They were out of cragels around 11am on a Sunday. We got the bagel sando with sausage, egg, and cheese, and a tuna salad sandwich, as well as an iced mocha. The sandwiches were tasty and filling, made fresh with quality ingredients, and a nice light crunch on that asiago bagel. And that iced mocha was one of the best I've had, sweet and creamy, I'm craving it now! The service was standard, and seating was limited both inside and outside the cafe, but we were able to find an outdoor table with seats, as people came and went fairly quickly, just as we did. I'd return to try the cragels.

Loved the strawberry matcha and white mocha hazelnut. Good falafel sandwich, never would have thought of pairing cheese and falafel together but it worked :) not a lot of seating, great place to linger and eat if you do get a spot. Super nice staff! We def want to come back to the the breakfast and coffee combo

I needed some breakfast before a conference. I happened upon this spot. The lox bagel was on point. DELICIOUS. I ordered an iced tea and got this flavorful, dark berry tea packed with flavor. Wow. The customer service was great. Highly recommend this lovely, cozy setting.

Cragel sando + iced latte = perfect start to the morning! This was recommended from a SF local and did not disappoint! Service was quick and we got a table easily on a Friday morning!

I needed some coffee and decided to visit Beanstalk Cafe as it was near my hotel in Nob Hill. My husband isn't a breakfast person so I went solo. I made the trek down to Bush street via Powell and found it next to Sons & Daughters. I walked in, took a quick look at the menu and decided on a Cragel (croissant/ bagel hybrid) breakfast sandwich with bacon. I also ordered a latte. I didn't want anything super fancy but on other days I would have liked to have tried their cold brew. Their cold brew appliance looked awesome. I asked for it to go but I ended up eating it in its entirety. I was famished I guess. The cragel had eggs, cheese, and bacon inside and it was served warm. It was really good. The latte was standard so I added my raw sugar to it and took a big sip. Instant pick-me-up, which was what I needed. Good service and a solid menu. There are a few tables inside but it's mostly a takeaway spot. Check out Beanstalk Cafe, if you're in the need for a caffeine fix!

This place used to be great! I returned for the first time since Covid and was so disappointed. Bacon egg and cheese on cragel was good but the cragel was dry and not the amazing creation I remember. I also ordered an extra Cragel plain, uncut, un-toasted on the side to bring home for the next morning but when I got home, I realized they didn't listen. They gave me an over toasted stale cragel that was inedible. Sadly this place is not what it used to be. I won't be back.
