Our family had a wonderful dinner last night at Bettola! I had requested the long table in back and it was set an ready for our group of ten which made it more intimate than the front room and easier to hear each other. We ordered many of the appetizers to share and the waiter was very helpful in figuring out quantities so everyone could try everything, and also in helping choose the wines. For the mains each person chose their own, many of the pastas and larger plates. Everything we had was outstanding! I would say favorite appetizers were the bread which they bake there and serve with a spicy olive oil and prosciutto, the potato crocchette, the eggplant Parmesan and the porchetta, and all the pastas were enjoyed and my son in law loved the chicken and I thought the swordfish was spectacular! Only the 11 year old wanted dessert, tiramisù which is his favorite and he shared tastes. I highly recommend going early with a group and it is one of the few restaurants where you can have a conversation. The back room is charming with market goods and books and though the kitchen is near there was no noise to speak of. The service was great ( and included in the price! But we added on top because we had such a fun time and never felt rushed. The long table seats 14 and we were only ten but had it to ourselves.
The food was delicious and affordable, the service warm and welcoming. The pasta tender, yet present and perfectly cooked. Delicious sauces. We will go back. A treasure.
The food was excellent, and we were surprised that the restaurant is not more busy. We went on a Sunday during the farmer's market. We were a table of family members, all with an excellent knowledge of Italian food- cooking, eating and going to Italy. The tomato sauce was excellent-perfectly prepared in a more Northern Italian manner as it was light, lightly seasoned with salt/basil and allowed the tomatoes to do the work. The bread selection is delicious, focaccia with olives and plain. The olive oil was something all commented on for it fruity, deep flavor. I'm truly surprised this restaurant is not packed, and encourage others to try it.
Always delicious! Definitely order the porchetta. The lasagna was unique and very tasty, as well. Very good overall.
Lovely experience all around. Superb food and great service! The only negative was that all tables are near the door so it can get chilly as people come and go.
Prompt and attentive service. Cozy vintage, European environment with a black and white silent Italian cinema in the background. Delicious food with excellent balance of flavors and textures. It was a warm and hearty thanksgiving dinner away from home!
Sweet little Italian joint that feels like eating in someone's kitchen. There was a movie playing on the wall and the decor is a vibe. Antiques and farmhouse, etc. The food was very good. Not outstanding (we're so spoiled here in SF) but very good. The service was wonderful. The hostess was fantastic, very personable and not pretentious. The icing on this cake was the prices. Incredibly affordable for bay area standards. We had a salad, an appetizer, a primi, a secondi and 2 non alcoholic drinks and it was less than $110. Highly recommend!
Had dinner at Bettola and it was amazing. I had the octopus special and the costata di maiale, both full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Service was super friendly, great atmosphere, and I loved the black and white old movie playing on the projector. The porchetta on display looked incredible, so I’ll have to try that next.

Nice atmosphere and service but avoid if you want good food. Especially with so many excellent Italians restaurants in SF.
Insalata di Lattuga supposedly had anchovy vinaigrette. Couldn’t tell there was vinaigrette not to mention anchovies.
Crocchette di Patate were not oily but pretty tasteless, bell pepper aioli was good.
Calamari in Purgatori was extremely heavy on smoke paprika couldn’t taste anything else it was totally overwhelming. I suppose it should be bit acidic being seafood and there were some capers but we only tasted paprika. breadcrumbs were not enough side for this dish.
Paccheri all’Arrabbiata was best food. Pasta was al dente, sauce pretty basic and not spicy unless you ate the chili.
Panino con la Porchetta was the most disappointing thing we ate there and anywhere else for a while.
won’t be coming back and definitely not recommending.

Best way to spend my Halloween! Incredibly gluten free friendly (most places upcharge for gf pasta) - I got the best special, pasta with guanciale, and am obsessed. Shout out Eligio for attention to detail! Highly recommend the Lambrusco on the wine list

The honest star of the show is the food! Surprising, fresh, deeply italian. You can feel the authenticity of the staff, the decor.
Stand outs are the Carbonara and the Swordfish!

Had a great dinner here with friends! Everything we ordered was delicious, all the staffs recommendations were hits. The environment was perfect for catching up over apps, pasta, and wine. Service was excellent and welcoming. Cannot wait to come back here soon!
Stepping into Bettola's Italian market feels like being back in Italy. I love the selection of authentic goods! I now know what gifts to get my family for the holidays! Haha Also the olive oil and the focaccia are incredible. Yum!
