The staff just doesn't know how to cut fish properly. Disappointing, everything else is great

Stopped in just for the clam chowder, it was excellent. I'll have to come back, though, there are a number of interesting items on their menu. Of course, they also have fresh fish. If you're in the area stop by.

Billingsgate is a lovely seafood market. Maybe a little pricy but it suits the neighborhood. They have a fun oyster happy hour that is quite popular. Other than that, their attempt to be an eatery/cafe is a bit off the mark. They don't really have waitstaff or even a list of wines by the glass. I think they need to reconsider if that is where they want to go because that side of the business is kind of half-a**ed. I got the "lazy man's cioppino and a glass of freezing Pinot and it was a pretty blah experience.

very fresh seafood. We lobe it. Will come back!

A bit pricey, but really nice fresh fish. Only disappointment has been really fatty salmon a couple times.

Great little place to grab a snack and fresh seafood! It is located in downtown Noe Valley so it's a cute area to walk around.

Amazing job putting this place together!! I live in the East Bay and every time I come to the Noe Valley, my old neighborhood, my old stomping ground. I always hit this place..

Terrific local fish market and neighborhood asset! It has changed our eating lives for the better! Great people and great merchandise! We LOVE it!

Terrible service. It is dishonest to leave the label saying it’s a Wild King Salmon at $34.99 lb when in fact it’s FARM RAISED. You have to ask and often time the server has no idea, then they have to go look to come back and confirm it is farm raised. Most of their clientele won’t question the label.

I had the best shrimp salad sandwich. It had an incredible taste to it, a combination of avocado and sauce. It came with delicious pickled vegetables and a side salad. Very well priced. Keep up the good work

Absolutely fantastic! That would be our summed up review. With the white interior and glass counters displaying all seafiidnavailablenfornthe day, the first impression was an upscale fish shop. With small tables on the side, we ordered our selections at the small counter, prepaid, and Satoko at one of the tables. Not crowded on a Saturday morning but many people came by to buy back. 4 types of oysters were available that morning so we had a half-dozen each (Miyagi, St. Simon, Standard Shore, and Kusshi). Few places offer oysters this early in the morning. Fresh and delicious. Kusshis remain our favorite, small but tasty! The clam chowder was rich and creamy. We shared a 16oz. It was filled with clams and potato... so much goodness! The Spanish Octopus Carpaccio was delightfully presented and in a generous portion. Sliced really thin, tasted fresh, not as chewy as one would expect. One of the best ways to eat octopus, I think. Last but not least, the Hamachi Crudo. This was AMAZING! I cannot describe it well enough with words. Fresh hamachi of course, with peppers, nuts (beware if you have allergies), caramelized onions, dill, and a bed of thick gravy-like dressing that perfectly accompanied the hamachi. Excellent dish!

Super fresh, clean, and delicious poke, crab salad, oysters, and sake from Sequoia Sake, who is making the best sake in USA, right here in SF. Friendly counter service, not much seating, but overall great experience.

This place is pretty good most of the time, but I had some fowl smelling Spanish Octopus here the other day. You only get one strike from me when it comes to bad seafood.

Nice neighborhood spot for fresh seafood in Noe Valley! I tried their oysters, shrimp toast, and poke bowl. Everything was super fresh and the service was quick as well. The interior is nice and airy as well. Would definitely come back for their happy hour!
