We tried all the empanadas ❤️And, all the beers ?? we tried were quite good ?. As you walk up to the place, there's this faint aroma of a operating brewery, IYKYK, AIR? Then when you get inside that same wiff briefly overwhelms you. Enjoy friends. This place is good stuff

This is a nice place to have a drink. We had stopped here years ago on a trip and again when we visited and had a good time each time. It's the kind of place where after a few drinks you remember it fondly the next day but might not remember exactly why. Service was friendly and we had a good conversation with our bartender. The pricing of things was a little confusing.

Average beers, nothing exceptional. Few food options, just pretzels, empanadas and chips.

A wonderful brewery located in SoMa right in between Moscone Centre and the Ballpark, so it makes it a perfect spot to hang out before and after events in the area. I've even actually worked remotely from here during the day, as there's plenty of space, chill atmosphere, clean single person bathrooms, pop up food & empanadas, good free WiFi and - the best part - beer! The variety and beer list is always pretty comprehensive and gets updated quite often. One of those places where the bartender will let you taste any beer on tap if you don't know what you want (Nautilus and the Belgian blonde were awesome).I barely write reviews but I HAD to give this spot a five star because it's one of the very few places in SF that STILL ROCKS THE PATIO/PARKLET! This one's awesome too; with heater elements, some greenery, and comfy seats. Also they have events from time to time and their trivia and live DJ nights were great to check out too!

Black Hammer Brewing was a great beer experience that Steve and I enjoyed in recent months. We had the CCBA Collab Cold IPA. I do enjoy Cold IPA's as they seem to be up and coming but still new and fresh that brings something different to the table over standard IPA's that you can get virtually everywhere. Also collaboration beers are usually rock solid and this one is absolutely no exception. The floral, hoppy, dry and bitter flavor features are a real joy to have them combine while savoring this beer and I am very grateful that my fortunate and rewarding streak with Cold IPA's continues!

Just hosted an event at Black Hammer Brewing SoMa and cannot say enough good things about them! Jim was extremely helpful in the planning of the event and Sam and Beth, our bartenders, were so great! I absolutely recommend this bar if you're looking to host an event in SF. Thank you guys!!

As someone who is gluten free, I have never had the opportunity to try such a large variety of beers. I had to stop myself from getting one of each! Amazing ambiance, great prices. I wish I lived closer!

We had a small event here, and the staff were excellent from our first outreach through the end of the event. Great, easy to set up, offered options, and folks were really enjoying themselves. Thanks to Ted and - I’ll be back for sure!

Black Hammer Brewing boasts an impressive menu featuring a variety of superb craft beers and thoughtful non-alcoholic options for those choosing not to partake. I ordered the Pale Blue Dot and i enjoyed the notes of blueberry with each sip. Whether you're a craft beer enthusiast or simply seeking a laid-back spot to enjoy a drink, Black Hammer Brewing deserves a spot on your must-visit list - you won't leave disappointed.

Wish I could give 0 stars. It’s not that hard to update hours if you intend on closing nearly an hourly early so that the bar staff can drink on their own. Don’t waste your time…

Decent brewery near our hotel. We both had the Ascendance Hazy IPA 6.6% which was good but not great. This was our last brewery of this 3 day visit to SF. I would come here again as they do have a decont selection of beers.
