One of the best cakes in town! I love that their cakes are moist, have a rich chocolate flavor, and are not overly sweet. Plus, you can customize the sprinkle colors, which makes it even better.

Of course Black Jet has amazing pastries and food, but what I really want to highlight are their cakes to order! I ordered my partner’s birthday cake from them (the Boston Cream Pie flavor) and it was incredible. I also recently ordered their heart-shaped Devil’s Food Cake for my best friend’s engagement party, and it was perfect! Everyone has loved the cakes both times. Both cakes were beautifully decorated, fun, and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend ordering cakes from Black Jet for any occasion. Thank you, Black Jet! 🙏🏾

Can’t overstate how much I love this spot. My husband and I are regulars and every single thing has been absolutely delicious. They also do a great job of continually switching up the offerings. Great friendly staff, cute merch, etc. Pies are the most expensive thing I’ve gotten here but they’re so good I don’t even mind

Would have given 5 stars if not for the misleading name of the establishment. They should have, instead of using the word bakery, used the words pastry palace. Or something like that. When you go to a bakery and they don't have donuts, donut holes, or even apple fritters, then it is a sad day my friend.
For me, today is that day.

A wonderful business. Their pastries are superb, much touted in the press, award winning ( most recently rated Best Bakery by 48 Hills 2025). And the people who own this business are the real deal: masters of their craft, giving, community oriented.

I’ve been a regular at Black Jet Baking Co. in Bernal Heights for a while now, stopping by at least once a week for my fix of fresh baked goods and excellent coffee. On my latest visit, we grabbed a few sandwiches that hit the spot, along with a coffee bun, a homemade pop tart, and a blueberry scone—all of which were absolutely delicious and perfectly baked. The coffee here is consistently great, with rich flavor that pairs so well with their pastries. If you’re in the neighborhood, this spot is a must-try for anyone who appreciates quality, small-batch baking! Highly recommend.

Really delicious pastries in a cozy location. Loved the apricot danish and the “pop tart”!

I had the Detroit style cheese pizza on sourdough bread. I believe the sourdough was from the Bernal Basket. Regardless, it was pretty damn good! I also had the coffee cake, which was nice and firm. Seating is virtually non-existent, so plan to take the food out.

They take the stress out of planning by helping us build a fun, delicious menu that covers all dietary needs, and the setup is always seamless. Our employees absolutely love their food; it’s always one of the most talked-about parts of any event.
