Food is really good but i was in line waiting to order and my turn in line got me to the cashier at 7:58pm and they told me they were closed cuz the kitchen closes at 8! They could have at least told me sooner they wouldn’t take my order!

Sandwich tastes good but why is it $17 and the size of my hand? It used to be bigger.

Loved this place! It's got a vintage farm vibe and it's so cute. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. We got there when they had just opened at 11 am so plenty of seating. I got the Fattoush sald, my hubby got the Spicy tuna sald and my daughter got the burrata grilled cheese. The salads were huge and so god and fresh. I was only able to eat half of it. My daughter ate all her sandwich which was rhe perfect size and she really liked the pesto and burratta on a soft roll. My husband ate his salad and it was super filling. We will definitely be back fir their fresh food.

My Fattoush salad was incomplete: there was no any feta, only 6 Gabon beans, 1 slice of red onion and no olives. Very disappointing; not as good as it is with ALL ingedients.

*note* The Tuna sandwich is no longer on the menu

I try not to let price be a factor in my reviews of restaurants because San Francisco has such a high cost of living… typically if the food is expensive, that means that 1. It’s quality 2. They pay their employees well 3. The cost of rent is probably more than you could ever imagine.

Today we got the Turkey sandwich with tomato basil soup, they use Diestel turkey which has always been one of my favorite organic, free range farms. The soup was rich and full of flavor… I liked the consistency, it wasn’t too creamy and still had a dark red flavor that lets you know the tomatoes are fresh and juicy (they also put tomatoes on the skirt steak sandwich which proved to be plump and juicy.) The turkey sandwich was simple in nature, I substituted pepper jack cheese for the goat cheese because goat cheese can sometimes over power everything else and I wanted to see how the sandwich would taste in a more traditional turkey sandwich kind of way… the pesto sauce that came on the sandwich was delicious and had more spice than I was expecting, definitely something unique to this restaurant, would probably make a fine dipping sauce for the French fries :)

The other Sandwich we got was the Skirt steak, you may be a bit turned off by this, but I like my skirt steak well done, especially when it’s grilled because the marinade gets caramelized and I personally like tasting the char… that’s what Barbecuing is all about (isn’t it??) the sandwich came out with more fixings than the turkey, primarily the tomato is what set it apart, and the cheese melted nicely due to the hot steak. The steak was mouth watering and tender, it broke down easy with every bite and was cut in nice chunks to prevent pulling out a whole piece and degrading the foundation of the sandwich :P The fries were rather traditional, shoe string and lightly salted, we got bbq sauce on the side that was rich and tangy, with a bit a sweetness to finish off the slight spice.

Overall this was a delicious meal with plenty of food to satisfy two solid eaters appetites, we even had a half a sandwich to take home for left overs. Service was simple, they give you a number and you order at the counter… I will definitely be eating here again, but not as often as I’d like due to the price point, lots of restaurants to try… luckily they have a thriving community around them, so even if people only eat there a couple times a month, they’ll be alright.

Thanks for the delicious food.

We ordered a truffle sandwich, fattoush salad, and French fries. The sandwich was very good, with firm and flavorful turkey. The French fries were also great—crispy and fresh. The fattoush salad was light, though it mostly tasted like lettuce. The service was quick, and they had outdoor seating available.

I didn't get to try the food, because after we sat ourselves to a table, one of the servers came to clean our table with a dry dusty rag that she wiped so hard that left our table full of threads and dust in the air. Then she proceeded to bring the menus, which she threw at us on the table, she should have at least handed them to us. There was a kinder server who asked us why we are leaving, she was okay, but nevertheless she excused herself about the bad service on the fact being busy.

Best food in the polk street area. Me and my Mother and Sister have been going here 5+ years. Always good, Always great. Salads and Sandwiches both.

Most of the time we want to eat out we choose this place over any of the surrounding ones. I Like the skirt steak, but I've tried most of the menu and its all good. Tater Tots are Above Average so are the Fries

Shared a Thai chicken salad, truffle sandwich, and tomato soup. The salad was good and sandwich was fine—definitely quality ingredients but flavor was not what I was expecting/hoping. The tomato basil soup was by far my favorite. Staff was super kind and even separated the salad into two bowls for us. Would be interested in going back to try other items!
