Their drinks are Quickly's quality, so that's like a 2 star. The $1 no ice option bumps them down to a 1 star.Their boba is hard and not sweet.Drinks are watered down.

I got the Matcha Milk Tea with 0% sweetness, and it turns out super sweet. I explained to the staff there, and she replied, "The matcha power is sweet." I mean, if they already knew that the tea is super sweet at 0%, I think I least it's only fair to explain to the customers about the sweetness. I could have gone with other orders or just moved on.It feels quite unfair.

Solid option for boba in a neighborhood that lacks many boba options! They have some outdoor seating but I've also stood inside at a table in the back--I wish they offered more seating because the decor is pretty cute!I like how they have snacks too--their spam musubi is pretty good. Boba is right amount of chewiness and service is always friendly!

CAUTION: WATCH YOUR STEP WHEN ENTERING. The storefront sits below ground level. There's an immediate drop with no warning sign. I tripped when entering, and later that evening, I could barely walk. I had to go to the urgent care center and get a boot for the sprain, which will take 4-6 weeks to fully recover. I recommend that the owners put a ramp or at least a warning sign at the entrance to prevent this from happening to other customers. If you're visiting, please be careful. The drinks themselves were good. I got the icy mango slush and enjoyed it. It wasn't overly sweet. But no drink is worth a sprained ankle :')

If ice is a part of my tea by design, then I don’t want the tea because you guys end up stuffing a bunch of ice anyway to not serve me tea. And when I actually ask for tea without ice, you charge me a dollar extra.

Good variety of teas and good boba. There is only one table for customers outside, so be prepared to take out.

With a little walking & persistence, we found Boba Gen in a business building area. There are plenty of drinks to choose from & a few food items as well.Seating is available with a long table & limited small tables as well, which indicates most people just order & go.Order: Passionfruit Green Tea w.Boba for an added $1. The Passionfruit juice was fragrant & apparent with the perfect amount of sweetness at 50% & low ice. The boba was fresh & chewy. Price wise it is on the more expensive side at $7.25. Other than the price, the quality is good.

Great work pick me up! I've ordered Boba Gen a lot through doordash and no complains yet.Matcha Milk Tea w/ Grass Jelly (75% Sweet) - 4/5- sweet and creamyyy! for 75% sweet, it was still quite sweet for my taste. there isn't a strong matcha flavor, but more of a sweet matcha latte taste. adding grass jelly was just the right touch!Consistency of drinks here are solid. I don't usually have complaints. They also label all the drinks so that's very helpful!

Cute little boba shop in the middle of SOMA. Not a lot of places have blueberry green tea so I gave it a try. Surprisingly, the drink came with real pieces of dried blueberry - I was just expecting flavored syrup. The amount of tea flavor was just right for the level of sweetness, and not oversteeped. Boba was nicely soft and slightly warm. 50% sweet was just right. Excited to come back and try their other drinks!Oh and watch out - the front door is slightly above ground level. They should really put a ramp in or something lol

I used to come here pretty often for convenience. However, while I understand that the cost of living is high, it now costs $1 for toppings and $2 for any milk sub (e.g., soy, almond, oat). The people who work there are very nice, but the drinks also tend to be a bit too sweet - even when adjusted to 30%. Probably won't come back because it's now $10 for my order of oat black milk tea with boba (before tip).

Decent boba with freshly brewed tea but I think there's room for improvement. No seating or spots to chat so that's a downside as sometimes snagging boba and chatting is a relaxing thing to do and fairly common too.Jasmine Green Milk Tea with Boba - boba was chewy and bouncy but not very flavorful or sweet. Good texture but lack of flavor can get stale quick. Tea was very strong and present, overwhelmed the milk for sure.

Having been here a few times, they have some excellent selections of tea. Usually, I order the Lycee milk tea, but I recently discovered their premium selection of tea and have to say it is fantastic. The place is always busy, a lot of orders come from doordash/uber eats. I really wish they had more food options but the waffles are not bad. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for delicious tea.
