Love coming here. This place has the best assortment of breads of all the locations and therefore my favorite location. From what I understand, the breads are made here and then distributed to the other locations. Prices are cheaper here as well. Always incredibly fresh and tasty. Staff for the most part are usually helpful and friendly. Small location so, only a few people allowed at a time. Plenty of metered street parking available.

Went instore to place an order and they said they turned off the stoves to prepare for closing before walking there I tried calling twice but of course no one answered and I tried to place an order online but they don't take special instructions or substitutions I'm so upset of wasting my time

Tried many times. First the price of their sandwich. Includes a choice of potato chips or salad. Should have more choices for a side that's included in price of sandwich. Bigger salad and more sauce topping. Chips are in a very small bag. At this rate and prices going always up you can purchase a regular meal somewhere else. Or sooner than later the company will close more Boudin Restaurants . Think twice corporate office.

Bread was insanely good (more on the chewy side which I like)This is a no nonsense bakery, no seating, no tacky wall art to make for nice instagram pictures. Just very good bread at a very good prices.Would highly recommend.

The calamari was excellent but that clam chowder... Well, first my apologies to my Beantown peeps (I see you Atlanta Fish Company! ?). I thought that I had experienced the best clam chowder ever back in Boston but the one at Boudin is beyond delicious and served in that sourdough bread bowl. Savory and unique!

Boudin, after 30+ years, you have let me down. An item from my delivery order was missing and you made no attempt to refund the cost of it. I called many times and got the runaround every single time. You even said that I would get a call-back to remedy the error. Nada. Zip. Nil.

Opens early, only to-go is available in this bakery.Clam chowder soup is thick and a bit on the salty side. But have it with their signature bread is nice.

After reading a great deal of the reviews here, I've come to the conclusion that people are looking for something Boudin isn't known for. They are known for the best Sourdough in the city--THAT'S IT. It's not a sandwich shop, it's not a pizzaria, it's not a Bagelry and it's not a chowder-house. They do not even specialize in customer service. While they do sell all of those items, It's a bakery that specializes in BREAD. That is the focus! That being said, go there for that--Fantastic, Old-School San Francisco style sourdough. I grew up on the west coast and have had Seattle style sourdough, I lived in Alaska and had Alaskan sourdough, but my favorite has always been SF-Style sourdough, and this bakery does it perfectly. The wonderful, tart fragrance, the perfect crust and the slightly sweet, moist interior is why one goes to Boudin. So, get in line, place your order and get the hell out of the way for the next person. They want great bread as much as you do. On a side note, get an extra loaf and have them slice it for you (free!), save it for the next day and make French Toast out of it, serve with salted butter and real Maple syrup. You will NOT regret getting that extra loaf! Quite literally the best French Toast I've ever had, hands down.

Pizza is 0/5 The pizza was absolutely terrible. You can see in the first photo the dough is flat and has zero aeration except for the crust. It was like I was crewing on leather. They should just discontinue making pizza and just continue making what they're known for. Or hire qualified people. Leaving a two stars because I know their regular bread and clam chowder bread bowls are good. But I was an idiot for trying the pizza at boudin.

I hate to do this to boudins as a SF resident. Born and raised at that. THIS location always gives me shit. Either rude customer service or managers that talk back. I asked for my birthday cookie and bread. And the lady at the register said you should have told me before you put your rewards. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Jesus. Way to make my birthday sour by just trying to enjoy a bowl of soup. Can't even say happy birthday. Also you guys should try smiling. You give crap about butter. IF I WANTED 6 more I order three soups and a whole loaf of bread. And to the manager that backed up the rude customer service shame on you. You didn't even hear my husband out. You should teach quality customer service. Every single person here has given me shit. It sucks that the food is good and all the people suck here. Warning to all people walking in. DO NOT expect any kind of customer service, ever.

Having Dinner at a friend's house for Thanksgiving and want to bring something uniquely SF, pick up a turkey shaped sourdough. Served 20 of us and my homesick San Francisco family appreciated a taste of San Francisco.
